K & J Rib Shack

I went today thinking I was about to grub and let’s just say my first and last time!! The ribs were alright, but the Mac was horrible no cheese and tasted sour. The potato salad looked like white ice cream. Greens taste like water no seasoning. Fried okra taste like the freezer. If I could sum this all up in one word disgusting 🤮

This was my first time visiting K & J rib shack (Perry Hill Rd) and possibly my last. If I do decide to go back it may be to give the desserts a try because I live close by. My macaroni and cheese was very bland and tasted like only noodles (no seasoning). Also, It did not have enough cheese on it for me. The fried corn tasted like cream corn out of the can. The potato salad was fine (not the best but I ate a good portion of it with one of the ribs). The ribs were a little tough and it tasted like there was too much liquid smoke or something similar on them. I usually don't write reviews, but this food was so bad I wish I could get my money back! Furthermore, it wasn't cheap.. If it were, I probably would have just let it go.

This was our first time visiting this place, but it won't be our last. The first thing that hit me as soon as we walked in was the aroma of very good barbecue. As we were ordering, we held a conversation with the man and lady whom I'm assuming are the owner and his wife, and they were very friendly. My husband got ribs, potato salad and baked beans, which he said were all very good. I got a vegetable plate, consisting of green beans, lima beans and cabbage. These vegetables tasted like they had been cooked by somebody's grandma for Sunday dinner! The only thing that would have made them any better is if I had gotten cornbread to eat with them, which I didn't only because I'm watching my weight. We will definitely be returning.
