Nectar Urban Cantina

Hadn't been back here in a while but this experience was definitely better than the last! We went for my husband's birthday got a table right away we were surprised we didn't have to wait. Our server was extremely nice. We started with Chips and queso that were amazing. My husband had fajitas, I had a Birria taco & tostada with cochinita & a side of Mexican street corn and my son had a chesse quesadilla. Everything was really great. I would say the best thing that I ate was the queso and the tostada. I really hope they have them the next time I come because I would get two of them but I could probably eat five. 😆

Nectar is often a safe bet for when you want to meet with friends and have a few drinks while also getting some pretty good food. There are definitely menu items I wouldn't get again, really it's just anything shrimp I wouldn't get again. Last time I got shrimp in something it was way over cooked and not great, but virtually everything else is great. The drinks are also very good, I'm a big fan of the prickly pear and ginger margarita and could drink them endlessly if I was able to walk home from there. Also, while I don't have kids, the outside area is great for people with kids and I noticed that they recently added even more stuff for kids to play on in the back so it's a great family option too.

For today’s food review I’m here at Nectar Urban Cantina in Nashville, TN where they have really high ratings and a constantly packed parking lot. I love a good Tortilla Soup and when I saw they had it on the menu, it was an easy decision what to have for lunch. I added two tacos, one being Carne Asada and the other “the Nashty” made with chicken tender, pico, cheddar, romaine herb salad, quest and pickled jalapeños. To was this down with I opted for the Iced Horchata Latte. The vibe here is hip, trendy. Asada taco was really good. Small (two bites) but good. The Nashty taco was interesting. Good flavor overall but didn’t detect any pico or cheese. The horchata latte was refreshing and went down quick. Sadly, the tortilla soup was a let down. I had a few bites and that was it. Bland, oily and missing those zingy elements typically found in a good bowl of tortilla soup. Overall, I can see why they are busy. Today was my first time eating here and all I can say is don’t skip the fried avocado. It’s amazing! We shared those and each got a burrito bowl. Ask for poblano queso to dip the fried avocado in. It’s a real treat. Edit: went back again and again and again. I added more pictures. Don’t skip the fried avocado it’s to die for.

I went here for my daughter’s birthday lunch and they did not disappoint. They had a variety of Mexican food with good healthy alternatives. I had a smoothie, some tacos, I highly recommend the fish taco, my daughter had a healthy bowl and the fried plantains were amazing. The atmosphere is not only hip but family and pet friendly with an inside and outside seating option. They have a stage for live music with a seating area and a playground for the kids. I would definitely recommend this place.

The food came out fresh and delicious. Saturday was nice and busy so it was a full house. Make sure to check your ticket because my server was probably so overwhelmed with all of the foot traffic that he accidentally added another table's items to my ticket. Quick fix and everything was made right. Besides that it was a wonderful trip to enjoy some good taco offerings.

Found this place through a quick Google search and was so glad I did! Little gem with an eclectic menu that has a ton of healthy options. Our waiter was amazing, and he informed us that we could order from the lunch and brunch menus as well as the juice bar, etc. Went with a couple of friends and we split the nachos as an app, highly recommend adding the steak! One of them ordered the cheeseburger taco and had rave reviews about it. I ordered a burrito bowl as my main and customized it with the toppings I wanted, including of course steak! Overall great experience. Would love to come back and try the juices and smoothies!
