The Gruene Door

Honest review, first to last impressions, no fluff here: Eat here if you are looking for a Everything about this place represented QUALITY! Spinach dip came out as if freshly prepared when ordered still boiling hot like you would see on a cooking show! Just go here, don't think twice and you will also be treated beautifully!

The atmosphere, food, and waiter was great. Our waiter Crosby (hopefully that is the right name) was very polite and attentive to us. The food was delicious and came out very quickly. My husband's steak was medium well not medium rare, but he said it still tasted good. Our waiter offered to take the steak back without us mentioning it, however my husband said it was fine. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be returning to it again soon.

The Gruene Door is one of the best restaurants we have been to. The food is incredible. Clean, delicious food. The steak is incredible, and you can tell the chef and cooks care about what they send out of their kitchen. The staff is kind and welcoming. If you are looking for a nice place to eat an excellent meal The Gruene Door has you covered.

Service was ok. They were fast and efficient but our waitress had to little to no interaction with us. The taste and quality of the food was the most disappointing. My wife had the 8 oz filet with shrimp for $51 and I had the rack of lamb for $38. Both were rather bland and tasteless. We were hoping for service and taste that were worthy of the price, however it was barely on par with the quality you’d expect from a place like Texas Roadhouse. There was nothing special AT ALL. We paid $150 for 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and one dessert which had they tasted great, we would have gladly paid. Unfortunately the food was just tough and tasteless. The dessert was excellent thankfully. The waitress we had never asked us how anything was and we only saw her when we ordered and when our food was brought out. Had she asked, I definitely would’ve sent to lamb back. We had high hopes, but after our experience I see no reason to return.

Our office was able to have lunch as a group here yesterday to celebrate some corporate anniversaries. Thank you for making our lunch memorable and timely. Everything was so delicious and our waitress, Rachel, couldn't have been better! And, so easy to make a reservation for our group. Love this little NB gem.
