Haven't been this impressed in a restaurant in a long time. The atmosphere, service and food are amazing. We tried the crab cakes, soft shell crab, jambalaya, potato salad, chicken&waffles and the fried alligator. I couldn't pick which one I liked the best. So fresh, delicious and well prepared. Definitely will be back soon!

The first time I visit this restaurant, in Milford the food and service was very good. I recommended this restaurant to everyone, I know. Unfortunately, my second visit with a friend whom I have been boasting about this restaurant too, became a disappointment. The location in New Haven is nice, but the service was terrible. They were under staff, and unprofessional, we waited about ten minutes before someone noticed us, and that is only because, I had to find someone, to make them aware of our presence. After being seated, the wait for the food was too long, that my date and I decided to leave. I felt embarrassed, because I boasted about this restaurant, to my date. In conclusion, the food is good, but professional improvement is very necessary, in order to succeed in business. Therefore, I give this place one star for business, and five stars for their food. I wish them well.

The food is amazing. The service and atmosphere is a little odd. The cornbread was served in Saran Wrap, as if I'm leaving. It's set up in what it seems used to be a house, so it's a little cramped. The decor is nice. The food is amazing. They've got red beans and rice, gumbo, jambalaya, shrimp and grits, and many different poboys as well as great desserts. You should go here if you like Cajun food. They have alligator, too!

Was visiting from NJ for the weekend, and ran into this place. Some of the BEST FOOD!!!! I have ever tasted. Service was amazing! Very nice laid back restaurant. And again food was amazing from my chicken & waffles to the blacked chicken pasta. And a bonus they have a parking lot behind the restaurant.

My girlfriend and I came here for the first time last week and we will absolutely be back. Everything was amazing- service, atmosphere, and, of course, the food. I would say that there is one thing you should order in particular...but everything was so good it's hard to single one item out. That said, the okra was bangin. Can't wait to come back and try more!

The food is very good however the reason I'm giving a 3 stars is because I went home smelling like grease/fried food. That smell hits you as soon as you come through the doors but to leave with the same smell in your clothes is not a good look, good thing i went home after i had dinner. This place is very nice however I recommend getting a new ventilation system.

Took forever to get our food. Went with a group of 11 people. Paid our bill after waiting 45 minutes to get food. Thank God we weren't in a rush. The owner came to the Shubert where we were performing and accused us of not paying our bill. Once proven wrong didn't offer an apology for causing a scene. He will NEVER get our business ever again. Should I mention we were a group of African American women....
