Ila's Little Tea Shoppe

My mother and i always went passed the tea room but decided to give it a try and its such a cosy warm welcoming place. The staff were lovely and polite, as my mother had a bit of tooth pain, she wanted something that wasn't going to cause pain and saw on the menu that it served soup. The waiter who took our orders, mother asked what soup it was and responded "stilton and broccoli" the waiter asked what bread option she would like, took my order which was a cream cheese, cucumber and mint sandwiches, again asked which bread i would like. As we were waiting i noticed that there was an award for this year on the wall and it was nice to see awards for staff with their Food safety certs too, food came and was really really good, all fresh and local too, overall, its definately a little gem and will be returning too.

Traditional old charm brtish tea room , serving high quality home made cakes and savories , all made to a very high standard at prices that are reasonable . Decor inside is breezy and light , and the tea room is cleaned to a good standard , WC was very clean . Staff were very friendly and polite , and were very nice. Although this is a tea room selling various types of high quality tea's , they also have a good high quality coffee machine , and it does make a great americano !!!! . This place is tucked away in a quiet lane in the heart of the city , but it's not far from all the city has to offer . Perhaps you may not even know this place is here . maybe on your hard earned staff break !!! you might want to treat yourself or a friend to that special breakfast or lunch . Highly recommended by locals and tourists alike .

This little tea room is absolutely wonderful. I was in town with my mum and we are always looking for somewhere to have a sit down and have a cuppa. The welcome we received from the owner and her staff was amazing the coffee and lunch was to die for. On leaving the shop we received a farewell hug. Thank you for the wonderful time in your shop.
