Pho Oceanside

The pho here is mediocre at best. I felt like it almost tasted old… maybe it was just me. I ordered the #1 their special (which was supposed to be large). I didn’t feel like it was a large OH and there is no meat balls in there (I didn’t realize it didn’t come with one until afterwards and I had to go back and read the description. Sad face 😞) I also ordered their egg rolls which was pretty good but I wish it came with more herbs (maybe some cilantro and mint.)

Great people, but this shrimp fried rice is pretty sad. It's too oily and soggy, and the previously frozen shrimp and veggies are stale. It's sad because it seems they sacrifice a lot of quality for quantity and speed. If you want a quick meal this is the spot, if you want quality, elsewhere is probably better. There really isn't any passion in their cooking. I bet what they eat at home is better than what they serve. They should serve the food they eat at home. I won't be coming back. It's just too sad for me.

Found this place after being refused service at another pho restaurant. We arrived around 8:25 pm and stayed until about 9 pm and people were still arriving and being seated (they close at 9:30). We ordered the egg roll and spring roll combo appetizer which both rolls were really good and their peanut sauce was topped with a good amount of crushed peanuts. We both ordered pho. The bowls had a lot of both meat and noodles and the broth had great flavor and was served perfectly hot. The rare steak in the soup actually came out looking rare. The place itself is clean with a large dining room and a small bar. They do serve beer and wine which is great. Will definitely be coming back even though the other place is closer. They just gained a couple of regulars.
