Old Mattress Factory Bar & Grill

First off the taste of the food was good but I wanted to explain from a chefs POV. As a chef I'd expect a place like this to at least fry up cheese curds properly. They were cold and not hot in the center. Then when we got the steak Sammy I asked for it to be medium rare. It came out Grey but still tasting alright and tender. But that's what you get for using frozen steaks instead of fresh product. It became abundantly clear early on that most of the product was frozen product and just reheated. The BBQ pork Sammy was really good though. Nothing bad to say about it just a tad dry. Couldn't have been juicier. Again... if it was fresh. Service was kind and attentive. And atmosphere was alright. Overall we will return but maybe if we go on a day everything is fresh.

We stopped in before a concert at the Steelhouse. Great food and great prices, had all the NFL games on and it was a fun atmosphere! Service was good, a little slow but I think there was just our 1 waitress working so she did great for all the tables she had. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for good food that doesn’t break the bank.

We had an amazing experience. The staff was amazing. Our waitress was so kind and went the extra step to be friendly to our 6 year old, made him a special drink (Shirley temple) and even gave him a small Halloween stuffed animal. Manager and bartender came to check on everyone for refills whenever they had a free second. Good service is hard to find these days so always try to praise it when we see it. The food was also delicious and a Great atmosphere.

The building has been renovated to reflect its historic roots, while still offering a modern atmosphere. The service at the Old Mattress Factory is friendly and attentive. The staff is always happy to answer questions about the menu or the beers on tap. The atmosphere at the Old Mattress Factory is casual and relaxed. The restaurant is a great place to go for a drink or a meal with friends or family. I recently visited the Old Mattress Factory with my son before a Creighton basketball game. We ordered the smoked French Dip sandwich and the Mac n cheese. The smoked French Dip sandwich is made with tender smoked beef and pepper jack cheese on a toasted hoagie roll. It is served with Au jus for dipping. I asked for it the Dan Martin way, which comes with caramelized onions. The sandwich was delicious, the beef was tender and flavorful, and the cheese was gooey and melted. The Au jus was rich and flavorful, and the caramelized onions added a nice sweetness to the sandwich. The Mac n cheese is baked with a panko bread crumb buttery crust. It is creamy and cheesy, and the bread crumb topping adds a nice crunch. My son loved the Mac n cheese. He ate it all up and now this is his favorite Mac in the city. Overall, we had a great experience at the Old Mattress Factory. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for a casual meal before the game. Go Bluejays!

I was very surprised to have liked this place as much as I did. I had the most amazing server. Her name is Brianna. She recommended a really good dish (can’t remember the name, but it was a sandwich with pulled pork and beef). I was in heaven. I have yet to have any good food in Iowa, so I didn’t have high expectations for Nebraska, but Nebraska was Nebraska’ing for sure. I’d definitely come back!!
