Ravine

Food is incredible but good luck getting to try it. By far the absolute worst place at answering the phone. I have tried on multiple different occasions in the past year or so (at least 6 dates) to call and make a reservation and not once has anyone ever answered the phone (even after calling multiple times a day throughout the day).They will host reservation-only dinners, but will not answer the phone. Then the nights I have tried to pop in for dinner, they are randomly closed, with no updates on social media. Like I said, amazing food, but very hard to get in. Editing because I can’t reply: Like I said, this has happened in the last year or so meaning 12 or more months. Not including the time closed due to a pandemic, but is including literally less than a week ago when you asked people to call to reserve a spot at the tomato dinner. Every reservation dinner you have had, I can’t get anyone on the phone after several friends and I call multiple times throughout the day. (Like stated above) Also, why would I leave a message on the voicemail when a post on your instagram during the Crunchy Bird takeout dinners (another time I called at least 5 times a day for 3 days to place an order with no Luck) that you don’t honor voicemail orders that aren’t made with an “actual human”. This review has absolutely everything to do with the business. As stated above, great food, but terrible at answering the phone even when they state that’s the only way to get ahold of them. Don’t bother with a reservation or anything that requires a phone call.

Let me just start by saying that this is by far THE BEST place I have eaten to date in Oxford. The environment was peaceful and absolutely beautiful. We were sat in front of the fireplace. We had the best waiter. All of their staff was friendly and helpful. I found my new favorite wine thanks to one of the staff members. Our food was delicious and cooked well! They were very accommodating to our child, who is 2. Our waiter even walked me out with an umbrella! We have found our new favorite place! We will be returning! Thank you so much for giving amazing and considerate customer service!

Fantastic food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Located in a gorgeous old house off South Lamar, it's close to Oxford and well worth the drive. Food was delicious, the slider appetizers were perfect. Excellent selection of wine and mixed drinks. We had excellent service while we were there, Cory was very polite and was a wonderful server. I highly recommend this restaurant, absolutely worth it.

The Ravine is one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Oxford! The team is so accommodating to my vegan diet. Just email the restaurant to let Joel know any dietary concerns when you are making the reservation. It’s only a few miles from The Square but the atmosphere feels like you are on a retreat. It reminds me of going out to Yocona River Cafe many years ago. I live in New York but try to visit The Ravine each time I come to Oxford. The food is always local and seasonal to the time of year.
