The Alice

This one surprised me! Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it to be all that great, as these types of places all normally overpriced, average food and your paying for the fancy place. However, on this occasion, I was wrong, the food was really lovely, the fish and chips (as in photo) was perfectly cooked, juicy and flakey, chefs kiss. It is a very beautiful dining room and we had a wonderful lunch. Only small criticism is that some staff weren’t as attentive as others and it is expensive for what it is. I would certainly recommend, especially if for a special occasion.

We had afternoon tea here and I had to leave a review as it was an amazing experience, from the cosy atmosphere, the delicious food and the view overlooking the museum made this an afternoon to remember. The service we received was outstanding and the cakes and warm scones were the best we've tasted. I would recommend this for a special occasion, it's something we will never forget.

My husband and I went to Alice’s to celebrate some good news and we’re delighted at both the food and the service yet again! This is our go to restaurant and bar for making happy memories, and our server Damien was especially kind, patient, and very attentive. He, as well as the sommelier and all the staff, were amazing and helped to make our night so great!

Located inside The Randolph Hotel by Graduate Hotels, The Alice is an all-day British brasserie in the heart of historic Oxford. Within The Alice, The Alice Bar offers cocktails and homemade cordials which take inspiration from Oxford’s history. We visited as part of a family get together in Oxford, the starters and main food was delicious and there was definitely something for everyone. The deserts were a bit sweet for my taste but we all had a very enjoyable meal. Lovely styled rooms and very attentive staff. Would recommend.

Beautiful decor in a classy, high-end hotel. I had a tomato and Burrata appetizer, which was delicious. The steak main was also great, though I wasn't quite so impressed with the mac & cheese side. I had a 4-flavor ice cream for dessert - great presentation, and wonderful taste. The staff were very helpful and quick to help when they saw me - but they weren't in the dining room a lot of the time, resulting in slow service sometimes when I was out of water or dropped my fork. I assume that because I went at an odd time (about 17:30), they were a bit understaffed, and there are more staff during the busier dinner period. In all, I'd say it's a great place for a special occasion if you don't mind slightly slow service at times.
