Salt & Straw

Be forewarned: there will be a line when you get there. Now that that is out of the way, the ice cream is phenomenal. The service is fast and efficient and the flavors are top notch. This place will have you coming back again and again. And after the first bite, you will understand the hype and the lines. It’s worth it.

Normally on Saturdays this place would be crowded to an absurd degree... Which is a given by its reputation. However if one stops by after a brunch or late breakfast from 10:30 to 11:30, there won't be much of a wait line if at all! That said, my rating was indeed affected by my expectations hearing that this store's ice cream is 'the best'. I should've taken it with a grain of salt? Haha. That said, it was good, but not much more than good. Perhaps if one was an ice cream connoisseur they'd give a more in depth assessment but from what I can garner this place isn't worth a wait line above 10 minutes which it would normally have

My expectations were high for this place, seeing as how the line wrapped around the building and down a side street. But unfortunately, my expectations were not completely met. :-( I got the honey lavender flavor, and while the consistency of the ice cream was very thick and creamy (which I loved), the lavender was too overpowering for my taste. Next time I would definitely try one of their monthly flavors and see if those hit the mark!
