Peony Oriental Express

Perfectly okay, perfectly forgettable. A slightly above average selection of seafood dishes, which is nice, but if i didn't write this review I'd forget I ever ordered here. If its okay, why am I rating it 'Poor' rather than 'Average'? Because forgettable is only a step above 'inedible', and the overall quality of takeaway food in this city is 'eh' at best.

Absolutely appalling, 1st to door told 30 min wait after 40 mins I returned food wasnt ready. I complained as I had given her an extra 10 mins, she didnt want to hear it and walked into the back room. I pressed the bell but instead of her attending the counter to deal with the issue she sent a girl roughly aged 10 to speak to me. The lady served food to 4 other people whilst I was waiting so I asked for a full refund as this was nearly 1 hour later. She went back to the kitchen and continued cooking, I pressed the bell continuously as she was ignoring me and continued to ask for a refund. She came through and was snappy and shouted at me. I again asked for a refund and as she returned to the back kitchen she called me an inappropriate name (fu**ing arse) thinking I didnt hear. This irritated me I raised my voice and stated I wanted a full refund again. She then placed my order on the counter still ignoring me. I explained I no longer wanted the food and would like a full refund especially after the comment. She continued to ignore me she phoned the police stating that I was harrassing her and told lies. 2 other customers were in the shop seeing the commotion. She then went out the front and shut up shop by closing the shutters, she continued to refuse to discuss the situation and went through to the back kitchen ignoring me some more. I waited a further 20 mins no police arrived. Furious with the customer service and refusal of refund I left, I am in the process of taking this further and warn anyone not to pay until you get the goods so that if you are not happy with the level of service you will not lose out and can go elsewhere. Otherwise you will be ignored and refused a refund. Also the food order was wrong and items missing. Worst afternoon for a while!

I wouldn't recommend working here , it was my first job and I had no choice but to leave because I felt uncomfortable due to way I was being treated. Also food isn't prepared properly most of it is frozen and stored in the freezer for long period of times. Delivery can take up to 2-3 hours on some nights , the chief picks food up from the dirty floor and throws it back in the pan personally I think this is inappropriate and very un fare.

Hi there. I wouldnt recommend to any one Peony as its dirty cookin. As they prepare egg fried rice long time before orders and then they heat it up in microwave the same happens with boiled Rice. One more thing every single food before cookin its frozen or even prepared long time agou and goes in microwave. Most coment is chicken balls they sometimes been ages in fridge and always before cookin in fryer they get heatend up in microwave. That is against the food and safety law. Foods hygiene should really really pay a visit. And sometimes when food even falls on the floor it gets picked up cooked little bit more and still goes for customer. And i agree to Jessica 100% that boss there is havin bad problems with attitude she dont know how to work with people. Hope food hygiene goes there soon. Dont wanna customers keep beeing sick from that food.

Would rate 0 stars if I could, ordered some food from here as I was really hungry don’t really trust it because it looks dirty but anyway about an hour or 2 I was getting some stomach pain and was having to go back and forth from the toilet. Should not be open and doesn’t even have a food hygiene rating outside. I have heard that it’s got 1 star. I would not go here! The cashier is rude and doesn’t have good customer service so never ever ever going here again!
