Penn Avenue Fish Company - The Strip

After years of going to wholeys for my fish, we decided to stop into Penn ave fish co. I was looking for yellowtail for sashimi. I asked and they said they’re in large portions used for their sushi, which I understood. 5 minutes later, the owner Henry came over with a fillet of yellowtail, portioned it out for me and 100% made my day. We tried their sushi and it was some of the best I’ve had. Service, experience, and food was top notch. They gained a new customer.

This place is amazing! First all, it’s byob which is always a good thing. Go pick up a good bottle or wine or a six pack before coming in. We came during oyster happy hour ($1 per oyster). They were delicious and the service was fast! We couldn’t help but try a variety of sushi rolls and they did not disappoint. The spicy crab roll and spicy senorita roll were both very unique and something I’ll be dreaming of! I’m not sure I can eat sushi anywhere else in pittsburgh…Penn Avenue Fish Co, you have spoiled me! We will be back many more times!

One of Pittsburgh’s best places for fresh sushi. I stop here any chance I can, which isn’t too often but every time it is absolutely worth every penny. The experience is like nothing else you’ll find in the city, offering a wide range of sushi and seafood variety. This spot tends to get pretty busy during the lunch rush, but thankfully their 5 star staff can handle just about any volume to make sure you get served in a timely manner.

Pittsburgh's gem of a seafood mecca! Right in the heart of Pittsburgh's historic Strip District is a seafood lover's paradise! I had the specialty of the day spicy sushi offering and the lobster bisque and it took everything not to order again and again! The sushi was incredibly fresh and the lobster bisque was creamy and filled with hearty vegetables and chunks of lobster! Everything from sushi to smoked salmon hot and cold salads and scrumptious soups bisques and chowders Whether you reside in Pittsburgh or plan to visit and you are a seafood lover you would do yourself a great disservice if you don't place Penn Avenue Seafood Company on your bucket list of restaurants to visit. And you wanna know what's even BETTER than the seafood???? THE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! Everyone was extremely friendly and eager to do their part to ensure the visit there was 100% enjoyable and certainly memorable. Go...check them out....say hello to Henry and the rest of the staff....you certainly won't regret it. I HIGHLY recommend Penn Avenue Seafood Company!
