Little Tokyo

Such a great neighborhood gem. Always busy, always good. Went there to celebrate my birthday with the family. We enjoyed everything!! Saki martinis are fabulous and the best, freshest, beautiful & tasty sushi around. Our waitress was kind and nice and overall did a great job. It was super busy (Sunday night) so the service was a tad bit slow; but nothing to keep us from returning.

Got some warm towels before the meal to clean our hands off with, and I got the yummy roll and I think a salmon roll if I remember right. It was delicious! Also shout out to the employee who went out ever 20 minutes or so to swat lantern flies at the entrance to keep them away, 😂 you're the best! Hate those things hahahahaa.

Usually I have rated my experience at Little Tokyo with 5s across all areas. However this time, my Habachi chicken was over cooked/dry. Veggies were great. The salad was sitting in a puddle of water. The appetizer didn't come out early. It arrived with the lunch entree. I'm assuming it was just an off occurrence.

To begin my review of Little Tokyo, I must start by saying I LOVE sushi, which is the number one reason my husband and I eat there at least once each week. I’m talking about the real deal — sashimi …. ice cold, fresh, raw fish, that is sliced ever so beautifully thin. Every now and then, I will order one of the rolls with minimal to no rice. I don’t like to mask the delicious taste of the fresh fish. I have tried sushi in many restaurants over the last 20+ years, mostly local; but also in some high-end restaurants in NYC and Miami. Some are good; but most are just okay. However, my husband and I both agree that Little Tokyo, without a doubt, consistently has the best and freshest sushi in our entire area. This restaurant is busy every day of the week; and they have at least 4-5 dedicated sushi chefs at all times. That alone speaks for itself. On top of all that, one more comment about Little Tokyo is that the owner, Frank, is at the restaurant every single day it’s open. He literally works his restaurant, along with his staff. He’s not standing by telling his employees what needs done; he gets in there and does it too. I give Little Tokyo 5 Stars in every category — and if 10 were an option, they’d get a 10…! There is no reason to go anywhere else for great sushi.
