Alexander's Restaurant

After several months of trying to get together with friends, we finally had a day that worked for everyone. After the first place we went to wouldn’t honor our reservations, we called Alexander’s and were told they could take us. I’m very happy they could! The food was delicious ( I had the wedding soup, chicken Marsala with a side of pasta and carrot cake,) the service was great, and Jim checked on us several times to make sure our night wasn’t ruined by the other place’s poor treatment. We will be going back soon.

Didn't start off well given two dirty plates and dirty napkin; then a replacement plate was ALSO dirty. But having survived that, my dinner salad was terrific - made special with candied walnuts and cranberries. Their "build your own pasta" has great selections. I had fusilli with red pepper sauce and Italian sausage. My wife had angel hair with white clam sauce which was respectable. My son had the fried calamari with pasta - the steam from the pasta took off the breading but it tasted good.

The grilled asparagus appetizer comes topped with pesto and tasty goat cheese and is not overcooked or soggy - done just right. I have had the wedding soup appetizer previously and it is good and for an appetizer the portion is generous.. On my last visit I had the Mafalda Alexander which I liked. To me the hot sausages in this dish are not that hot so if you are a bit timid don't worry. The portions are generous and the staff has always been attentive and friendly so give it a try.

Had a NADA mixed drink that was delicious while we waited for our table. Host was kind and funny. Waitress was excellent. Food was filling and delicious. Had the Bloomfield salad. Rice pudding dessert was okay. I have had better. Tried a bite of my mate's cheesecake. It was creamy and very delicious.

Good food, good atmosphere, friendly service. Great Italian restaurant to take friends and family to. Dishes aren't overly exotic. Love the calamari and Kemmer carbonara. Also a fan of the scampi and provolone. Bread comes with the meal, which is awesome, and they're happy to send more home with you. This is my go-to Italian place for family outings.
