My husband brought this home for lunch on a whim and when I tell you it was so good I called to place an order today and the man that answered the phone was so nice energetic and full of positive energy the same was applied in person food was delicious I almost ate the container so glad I don’t gotta go all the way to the north side or homewood for good bbq it’s right down the hill.

I got a quarter barbecue chicken and large sweet potato Your barbecue sauce with sweet and tangy with a hint of smoke very good tender moist chicken sweet potatoes had a little hint of something and little smoke flavor. Stop an owner very friendly open just like a mom and pop used to be. Worth checking out for yourself... since I have posted this I have been back multiple times for the ribs my preference is the pork ribs with the house sauce the beef ribs for me where tough to eat. They're telling her key is pretty decent as well as der meatball hoagie.

Excellent flavors! Eaten from here couple times but the food is so good that it doesn’t last until a picture can be taken. Finally able to this time. Ordered Half pork ribs— fall off the bone tender, with a beautiful rub. Sauces were House spicy & Bourbon ((lightly sweet))— both went great with the ribs. Sides were: corn bread, collards & potatoe salad— I do not believe these need any explanation, if you’ve tried these you’d know! Still…. Oh so wonderful!! Last time we had the Candied Yams which were so good! A bit extra sweet if you like it that way. I’m so surprised this place not once popped up in our BBQ searches until we moved to forest hills. But maaannnnn you have got to go here! Family owned, cooked from scratch. Worth every buck & more. The love is real. I have to go back & tell them a thank you.

Walked into a very welcoming atmosphere . The food was hands down the best food I have from the area. My husband had a half chicken meal with cabbage and beans and I had a wing meal with Mac and red beans rice . All delicious! Then a side of linguine and corn bread to top it off! The corn bread is the best we have ever had in our lives! We highly recommend .

So me and my girlfriend decided to give ourselves a challenge and try and find the best barbecue in Pittsburgh… it took us 5 places until we found Popie… Immediately won. Instantly won. No other place within a 30 mile radius could do what they do. All of the other restaurants barely cracked 7/10. We had to skip 8 and 9 for Popie. Insane smoke. Fall off the bone ribs, incredible sauce (and even if sauce isn’t your thing the seasoning is amazing). We got Pork Ribs, Beef Ribs, Half Chicken, Fries, Cabbage, and Mac n’ Cheese. Popie himself was just as wonderful as the food itself. I’m genuinely so incredibly happy we made the trips and we will be making plenty more in the future!

My grandson asked for bbq so I googled bbq near me and man am I glad we landed at Popie Redds! I got ribs, Mac n cheese and greens I picked the spicy sauce and let me tell you….get there. My grandson got the pulled pork sandwich. I don’t even think he took a breath, it was gone in seconds. The meat piled high and tender. Great food, friendly service clean dining room. Thumbs up from me and the kid !

This is the best BBQ restaurant i have ever eaten in my entire life. The workers were so friendly and welcoming. Excellent service. To keep it short, if this was were I lived. I would be broke because i would simply eat here all the time. I got a a full slab with sweet and spicy. The ribs were so tender I forgot I was eating ribs it was like pulled pork.

Hands down 👐 BEST BBQ. My husband and I always cook at home, and when we do eat out we are usually met with disappointment. Owner was extremely helpful, kind, and full of smiles. When I say this BBQ is 🔥, I mean 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tennessee vibes! My husband, teenage son, and I shared the full rack ribs with greens and Mac. I've never seen my picky teenager devour BBQ like he did tonight. Thank you for some amazing, drip off the bone, ribs. 💯 coming back! You can take my $$$ any day! 🤑
