Goosnargh Chippy

Fish and Chips - fish is cooked to order and probably could have done with a couple more mins in fryer and then left to drain a bit more but the fish was really 'meaty' and very tasty and the batter was not too thick. I am really picky when it comes to chips, but these are good. Chicken 'Burger' is 3 chicken strips in a roll, but tasted fine once we got it. Missed off the order. It is a good job we checked. We could have gone home and had to return for it. Cheese and onion pie was very greasy, more than the 'norm' ftom cheese. Staff are really nice. Lady frying seemed a bit 'off' with one of the girls and appeared a bit stressed. I know it is not 'The Ritz', and I am no Rockerfella, but had I received everything and the pie not so greasy, it would have been 5 stars. Also some poor interaction between staff in front of customers does not give a good impression.

I travel 1 hour to visit this chippy, we usually have a road trip and plan a visit, it’s easily the best chippy we have visited and I have visited a few from north to south, the sausage in batter is the best, I don’t eat them anywhere else as I will be disappointed, my family love fish from here as it’s fresh and the batter crispy, the chips are the best not greasy and need nothing on to make them taste better.we called last summer as they was closing but the owner looked after us giving us items that was left which my son loved, visited last week in our camper and again the food was top notch. Great service is guaranteed 👍👍
