Cardamom Indian Bistro

I used to work in Tamil Nadu for 2 years and I am pleasantly surprised to find that this is so far the only place in Reading to have the authentic Chettinad curry. Lastly, the Resturant seems to care a lot about the presentation of the food and the staff are very attentive. So all in all will be going back soon with friends!!

Very relaxing environement with white table cloth settings for dinner, friendly staff and flavorful food. The pappadams are warm and light with rich condiments. The dishes were delicious and they tailored the level of spiciness to our liking (beyond the most spicy *** level on their menu for one of the dishes). Compared to the other Indian restaurants on Kings Road, their dishes seem to be less oily but equally rich and flavorful, and the flavors seem to be more nuanced and changed during the meal. Staying for a couple of weeks in Reading and sampled several Indian restaurants on Kings Road. This is a more relaxing, less hurried and quieter restaurant. It has been opened for about 10 days but I think it will give the more established places some competition, especially after they get their espresso machine set up and start to offer some dessert.

I came here with my wife twice already and I must say the food is very authentic and fresh to order. I am pleasantly surprised to see a good selection of Indian dishes such as, Kasundi chicken curry, Hyderabadi Dum Biryani and Railway Lamb curry. Which you can not find anywhere else in Berkshire. Lastly, I was very impressed by the staff given of personal care and would be returning back ASAP!!
