Chez Louie

We thought we'd try the restaurant given we were going to the Museum of Art and it was a convenient location. The service was pleasant but it took a long time to get the food. And the food was abysmal. The soup of the day was bland and tasted canned. The kale salad was barely edible. The red wine special was expensive and tasted like colored water. The chicken sandwich was edible, but barely. The chicken was overdone and had a goopy tasteless sauce. How this restaurant gets good ratings is beyond me. We will not be going back.

My wife and I decided to re-engage the world after the pandemic/lockdown era with a day date to the Nevada Museum of Art. We tried the restaurant on the first floor out of convenience. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and welcoming. He even took the time to explain chef terms to me. We tried the mushroom asparagus soup, my wife had the chicken sandwich and I got the croque monsieur. We chose a shady place in the outside dining area. It faces a quiet and quaint street with views of flowers and a sculpture. The soup was a nice surprise, rich and flavorful with just a little acidity. The chicken sandwich was one of the best lunch meals my wife has ever had.

Our 7MUSES celebrated a 92 birthday at Chez Louie last Sunday. We've enjoyed many delicious lunches at the museum in years past but sunday's lunch was a disaster...a very limited selection..no soup...most of our artists had quiche..broken crusts and a wilted salad... Although the service was excellent and the employees kind and understanding, the food was a huge disappointment. hope it gets better.!!!

The wife and I went to the Nevada museum of art to Chez Louie for Valentine dinner. It was a unique dining experience because of location. The wife had duck which was spectacular, My steak was delicious but was served too me on the cold side, hence 4 stars. The service was excellent. All in all we had a great time. We plan on going back.

I wish I could come in here more often for brunch but I really would not want my kids screaming and playing around. Food is absolutely amazing and always coming up with new creations. They also have some very nice low-key live music on Sundays as well that you can still have conversation over or sit back and enjoy.
