Really nice food and huge portions! I had the cauliflower fritters and it was delicious. Such a good vegetarian option and they had a few others that I was considering too. Coffee was bomb, service was prompt and friendly, and I think it was pretty good value too. We sat inside but there’s outdoor seating too. It’s law has busy when we walk past and now we know why!

Hands down the best coffee and service in Richmond! The team at St J are always super friendly and make you feel like the cafe is an extension of your own home. Must try dishes are the chilli scrambled eggs (someone bottle and sell that chilli jam ASAP!) and the banana pancakes if you’re craving something sweet. The outdoor tables are perfect for people watching along a bustling Bridge Rd, whilst enjoying a cheeky breakfast mimosa. Thank you Jag, Angela, Yuri and Arpan.. Bridge Rd wouldn’t be the same without you guys 💕

We've been to St James in the past and always been impressed however there seems to have been a serious drop in standard. My partner and I had brunch there yesterday with our toddler and while the coffee was good, the berry smoothie had a strange artificial taste to it. We ordered the cinnamon french toast as well as scrambled eggs with potato rosti and bacon. The french toast simply wasn't french toast, but FRUIT bread cooked in butter and cinnamon sugar. There were three pieces of bread stacked on top of each other however the middle piece was raw, they weren't soaked in an egg mixture and fried off like you would expect of "french toast". The cream was whipped cream from an aerosol can which was horrible and in my opinion does not have a place on a $20+ breakfast in a Melbourne cafe. The scrambled egg and bacon was fine and while the rosti had good flavour, it was far too oily. The vibe has also changed, it used to have a warm, friendly local cafe vibe as now it has a colder, cafeteria-like vibe. We won't be going back.
