Carlos Brazilian International Cuisine

What a wonderful experience it has been to come eat here. Incredible desserts and the sauces in their dishes were phenomenal. It's a shame someone couldn't take over. Would love to see another quality food place move in here. Thanks for all your years of dedication to the valley of Roanoke. Pictured below "Scallops and Brazil 2001"

I've always enjoyed Carlos but I doubt I'll return. IMO they are on their last trip around the track and it is obvious. They only serve a few of their appetizers, are only open four hours a night but what got me was the filet. I understand prices are up but they now charge $49 and the kicker is when you set a $49 steak down in front of a customer it should be cooked as ordered. We both ordered medium rare and I'll be generous and say we received medium. Truth is there was so little pink it was medium well. We didn't send it back but told our server to let the kitchen know. Service was good BTW, no problem there and we ate on the patio and it was enjoyable. Drinks were good but it's pretty hard to screw up a drink. Carlos has had a good run. It's sad to see them remain open and go out on a negative note but it seems that is they direction they have chosen. If it holds a nostalgic place in your heart I suggest you go one more time. If not, there are certainly better choices for dinner.

I have been to Carlos' dozens of times. I had my first terrible experience there recently. I was out for a nice evening with a family member. We had the worst server. She got our drinks, appetizer, and food order but then after our meal came, we didn't see her for 20+ minutes. Our water glasses were empty the 2 times she passed us. She came out to check on another table, but not us. Meanwhile, the other server was regularly checking on her guests and refilling drinks. We would have ordered a glass of wine with dinner and definitely desserts. But we couldn't stand to be there a second longer after our experience. We had to leave. Our hope is that another nice occasion isn't ruined by another server on hiatus while she has guests are at her table.

The place itself is romantic calm and great place for an upscale date/ classy hang out. The service was amazing start to finish. But the price for what the food is not worth it. If you've been to a red lobster, olive garden or hometown seafood restaurant you will be let down for the amount of food for the price you pay. Pasta dish was bland, oily, and unfilling. My gf had the chicken dish and the same issues apply. Along with a friend's beef dish which was more full tastful just not enough selection within the menu, so for such a small selection of food the standards should have been higher like the service and ambiance

Just wanted to say goodbye and we love you ❤️ So sad visiting tonight knowing it’s my last. I hope the owners are aware of what an amazing establishment they made that was the focal point of so many milestones and accomplishments for us star city born and raised. No clue where I’ll end up next time I have something to celebrate without you. Will be missed for sure!

Pretty disappointed between service and food. Waitress was rude at first but then it felt like she was trying to make up for it. Drinks took over 15 mins to come sometimes when ordered… The filet and sides had zero flavor. Steak was cooked perfectly but nothing had any taste. Potatoes tasted like they were just tossed in water and boiled and green beans could have been out of a freezer bag. At least the views are pretty from the restaurant!
