We came with a large group of people that took about 4 tables. This activity was organized by Wounded Warrior Project. “Suspects Comedy Mystery” is aboard/co-located with Delta King Hotel. It’s on/or near the waterfront. When you come to it, it looks like a huge ship with about three stories high but, it could’ve been four I can’t remember :).
While you wait for the show to start you can hang out upstairs at the bar/restaurant. Beware it can get really crowded at the bar. So, The show is below the deck. We had an awesome first time experience. The tables are a bit too close to each other so it’s a little tight but it works out ok.
We really enjoyed the show. It was funny, interactive, very entertaining good music and good food. Not too many options though, but it’s understandable because it is like a party down there. They cannot have too big of a menu otherwise it would take too long to serve everyone.
The cast were funny, some were corny but they made it fun! My favorite was Captain Randy Orlando! I recommend this event for out of town visitors, friends outing, birthday parties. Etc.
By the way, no kids allowed because it’s PG13 :).

The hosts were really funny, we all laughed at least half the show. The setting is romantic and magical. There were a few negatives. First there were way too many people there at the same time. I went there for my husband's work Christmas party, there were about 60 of us there. But the total amount of people seated at the tables was close to 200. I think they had 3 different companies having their Christmas parties at the same time. So because of the huge crowd it was hot and stuffy in there, the waiters had a hard time and seemed really overwhelmed, it took forever to get our drinks and food arrived at 9pm when the party started at 7. My steak and mashed potatoes were barely warm. It was like they had the plate sitting out for an hour before serving the tables. Also because there were so many people there and everyone was talking at the same time, especially after a few drinks on an empty stomach, it was really hard to hear the hosts and follow along with the mystery murder. I think it would have been a lot nicer if it was just one company there at a time. And the steaks served at 7:30 maybe 8 at the latest. Oh and at one point they ran out of glasses to serve drinks.

My wife and I attended the April 6th performance for our 15 year anniversary. We drove from Fresno, about 21/2-3 hours (depending on traffic), just to attend that show, and enjoy our Anniversary together. We were running about 30 minutes to 1 hour behind schedule, so I called ahead in advance before leaving Fresno to tell them that we would be getting there close to the cut off time at the box office. When I scheduled my reservation, I fairly certain that I entered notes to inform them of our 15 Year Anniversary. We almost missed out on getting our tickets at the box office, and luckily I dropped my wife off at the pier in advance to get them. However, my wife told me that when she asked a staff member walking out of the Delta King boat where to go for getting the tickets, she said the staff member was very rude to her and didn't help her. I came back to the pier to get my wife when I couldn't find a parking spot, and my wife told me which seat numbers we had.
We ended up getting to dinner about 15 minutes late because of finding a parking spot that was very far away with a long walking distance. When we showed up, we went to our seats, but another couple was already seated there. One of the staff members re-directed us to a different table that was along the outboard section of the boat, and it was in a very dark area that was behind the pillars, making it more difficult to watch the show. I looked at the paper that was on our table, and there were people listed who were celebrating their birthdays, and at least 1 couple was listed for celebrating an Anniversary, but not us.
Throughout the night, I saved half of my mixed drink for the main course, but they didn't serve that until the very end of the show. One couple beside me didn't even stay around for desert, since the main course was served at the very end.
The show was good, and the food was delicious. The only problem was getting the tickets, seating arrangements, not addressing our 15 year anniversary on the menu/answer sheet, timing, and customer service.

I went with my sister, and disagree with her that we might have enjoyed it if dinner had turned up sooner (we finally got properly fed a ho-hum plate of food at 9:30, when the show was pretty much over). The show itself was loud and dumb, with "humor" that consisted mostly of bad puns and humiliating the audience. The people who were drinking heavily seemed to be the only ones having a good time. I really feel it was an evening I should warn folks away from.

Everything was more than we expected for our first murdwr mystery dinner except the steak was a little bleh. But that's understandable when you're cooking for 200+ people. From the waitstaff to the performers though they made sure we all enjoyed a wonderful show, kept the glasses full and made sure we didnt need anything else.

God, this place is trash. Food: terrible (lukewarm ranch dressing, over cooked food, 3 donut holes for dessert. Do you think that’s worth $45/plate??) entertainment: suuuper cheesy and rarely interesting. Ambience: WORST. PART. ABOUT. IT. It’s on the river, so reasonable to expect some nice views and the delta breeze. Nope. You’re in the basement. May as well not even be on a boat. Service: our waiter was the only positive experience of the dinner, however his manager aggressively singled out a person from our party and made sure all 10 of us (there for a family anniversary) had our evenings ruined. Overall we spent about $600 for dinner and a couple bottles of wine shared amongst 10. In retrospect we absolutely could have spent that money on a lovely meal in the farm to fork capitol of the nation, and recommend you learn from our mistakes and spend your money at one of Sac’s many other incredible restaurants!

Just Really Bad all the way around:
A) We were supposed to have a great table for my wife's bday, per the manager when reserving... we ended up in the very back and could see a male performer changing and others preparing to come out.
B) The performance and act were lacking in plot, audience participation, writing and acting. And they just gave you a disjointed answer at the end.
C) Didn't ask how we'd like our steaks done; some people had well done, some ended up with rare. An esily avoidable issue in food service.
D) The server delivered the wrong wine to my wife for her 2nd and final glass of the evening. Server then argued that no mistake was made, and would not replace the glass... rediculous!! I went upstairs 3 levels to the bar and ordered her the actual correct glass of wine from the bar.
E) There was a water drip landing on the floor, between two people sitting at the table, coming from the wood trim in the ceiling.

We received a gift card from our children and looked forward to a date night, mystery dinner.
First, reservations with a gift card are very complicated. You must email and they take their time responding. I tried calling but they don't answer their phone.
We arrived right on time only to find no host at the door, had to track someone down to find our seats. It was obvious they are either understaffed or disorganized.
A couple already seated at our table had been waiting on their drinks for 15 mins when we sat down, and it was another 5-10 mins after that when they were served.
Water on the table was not enough for number of guests seated and hard to reach. Dinner rolls we're obviously pulled out of a plastic bag from Costco and cold. Food choices were steak, potatoes and veggies, Teriyaki chicken, rice pilaf and veggies or Risotto and veggies. My hubby got Steak and it was dry and came with four string beans. I got the chicken which was not plated with rice pilaf but just plain white rice and string beans. We give food a #1.
Cocktail drinks were watered down and expensive. I ordered a prosecco and waitress brought a tiny bottle uncorked and realized she should have opened for me so took it back to open ($15!).
Show was okay, acting marginal, storyline was amateurish.
Best part was my date. I am grateful my kids bought us this for our Christmas gift, I would not pay to go again and can't imagine this staying open much longer.
