Sultan Cafe & Grill

I LOVE SULTAN’S CAFÉ!!! If there are any spelling, punctuation, or grammatical errors below, I apologize in advance because I don’t feel like proofreading. Lol. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve been to Sultan’s, and I miss the food, hookah, and people there so much, especially Hatham. He’s such an amazing person. Sultan’s Café was the first place I visited when I moved to San Antonio. I fell in love with this place on that day. To me, the people I’ve met there, are like family. For about 8 months, I was there 7 days a week and I’m not exaggerating. Ask the owner to search for my transactions. I’m sure the total is well into the thousands. Anyway, I love the ambiance at this place, and although I’ve been encouraged to visit other places, this place holds a special place in my heart. The owners and staff, sincerely, care about their customers. When we had the winter storm earlier this year, I was one of the thousands who was without electricity, water, and sleeping inside a freezing place. I needed to smoke to clear my head. So, I decided to walk about 2 miles to Sultan’s in the freezing cold. Thankfully, they were open. They treated me so kind. They provided me with an electric fireplace to help me regulate my body temperature. I was freezing. (See pic). They fed me and I enjoyed the hookah. One of the workers offered to take me home but on our way, it started sleeting and got out of the car because I didn’t want him to wreck. After walking a few minutes, one of the owners best friends, Khris, picked me up and took me home. It’s the kindness and thoughtfulness and friendship and love that keeps me going back to Sultan’s Café. Nobody can ever say anything bad to me about this place or the people. I love them so much. Now that I’ve said all of that, please don’t hesitate to visit or order from this place. It’s a very chill spot. By the way, Hatham, you should make a hookah flavor in my name🤪😉. TaKori (KORI)

Probably great if youre looking for a hookah lounge. We were just there for food. I liked my food, but they got my friend's order wrong and the meat was so charred he couldn't even tell what it was. It took a while to get our order in the first place so we didn't ask for a correction. If it weren't a hookah lounge, I'd love a place that serves this food near my work as a lunch spot or something.

Service is relaxed, fast, and friendly, and they have some variety on the menu. Fries were ok, the tea was good, however the "calzone" I ordered was very meh; some of the chicken was undercooked, cheese and seasoning wasn't evenly distributed, and in the <10-minute ride home, it had devolved into a soggy mess which was pre-cut in an odd way which wasn't conducive to eating it an any way which made sense. Seems a decent place to go if you want to hang in a low-lit bar and smoke hookah with friends, but the food leaves much to be desired.
