I didn't realize this location opens at 11 instead of 10 but the lady working there opened the door for me at 10:30 when I came by and was super nice about it. I felt so bad!
The pastries ate really delicious as well.

Still the best cream puffs!
A lot of places, some high end places, will swear up and down that their cream puffs are filled with 'custard' or a custard like filling, whereas they are actually filled with that nasty other kind.
Here the filling is the good kind. The creamy velvety kind, that, yes, gets uber messy when you try to eat it, but who cares.
This is Beard Papa's location I go to when I simply must have a real cream puff. As opposed to the location around the corner, inside the Westfield Mall, which rubbed me the wrong way.

Delicious cream puffs and mediocre coffee. Great place to pop in for a take home dessert. Not much seating inside so expect to grab and go. Cream puffs were fresh and yummy. Coffee was ok but it warmed us up on a cold January day. Would go here again.

Tasty cream puffs - the cream custard filling is not too sweet. Wish they made a plain cream filling as opposed to vanilla. One staff member was friendly, the other one (female with ponytail and glasses), not so much. Other than cream puffs they also have a plain cheesecake (not the ny style but is semi-sponge/cotton) and lava cake (fondant?).

Love beard papa. Tried several flavors but always go back to original puff with vanilla filling which is best. About $3.55 each.

Tasty little pastry treats. Not a large variety but they don't need it. If you're in the financial district I highly recommend you stop and try a couple of these. The custard filling is an excellent pairing with the eclairs. They're filled right as you order them so you know everything's fresh.

I love Choux pastry, which is what Beard Papa uses to make their treats...multiple takes on Eclairs. They run about $4 each. On this visit I discovered their Creme Brulee Puff...Help!!! I've eaten one every day because I don't live near Beard Papa...I'm just visiting. Thank goodness I can't get these treats all the time!

I was recently in San Francisco and walked past Beard Papas several times. When I saw cream puffs, I knew I had to stop by and I was glad I did. Their cream puffs are light and crispy and the filling is delicious. There are a variety of fillings like hazelnut and vanilla. Check these guys out!
