Vitrine

I just had a terrific breakfast here at Vitrine. I ordered the frittata and asked the waiter if he could replace the potatoes with a sauteed vegetable of some sort. He was happy to ask the chef to do that, and the result was a very nice concoction of spinach, mushrooms, sprouts, and some other stuff, not just a bland plate of spinach, which is what most restaurants would provide. I also liked that when I ordered a black coffee the waiter left the whole pot at my table. The dining room I'm in is clean, airy, spacious, and nicely lit with outdoor light through the big 4th floor windows. There are a lot of people in here, and there is a nice buzz in the air -- not too loud, and certainly not too hushed. The free Wifi is fast, though you have to ask the waiter for the password if you're not a hotel guest. This is a nicer sort of place than where you'd want to whip out a laptop and work for a while, but I'm doing just that and no one seems to mind whatsoever. The prices are about what you'd expect at a high end hotel.
