Emperor Of India

This place is so interesting to me because the food is really good, most of the time. At times it could be inconsistent. Maybe it depends on the chef that day, but their lunch buffet is to die for, when it's made properly. I've been going here for many years and 9 times out of ten, it will be really good. If there were one thing I would change, it would be the service. They seem to employ quite a number of people, but they rarely check on you. I really like this place and I hope that when you go, it's the right chef making the food.

I'm from Cyprus and living in San Jose CA for the last 4 years and Indian cuisine is my favorite. As an international flight attendant the best Indian restaurants was always in the UK. I've tried many different restaurants in the bay area and wasn't happy at all. At Emperor of India the taste and quality of Indian cuisine reminds me the authentic taste of what I was used for. Today for the 3rd time dining in I met with the owner and I'm pleased to say how professional and polite person is. Thank you guys, see you soon!

Came in on a quiet Monday night. It was *really good* for its location and at that price point! I was lured in to try their cheese garlic naan. It was amazing. I wish it were slightly poofier but that’s ok! It was still delicious. First bite was very garlicky and cheesy as promised. We also got butter chicken which was very rich and creamy. Again, super delish and came with a giant side of basmati rice. The other entree we ordered was the Emperor of India special - which was like a tandoori chicken/ lamb/ fish / shrimp. Ya all of those proteins. Again. Fantastic at $18!! Definitely coming back sometime soon to try some of their other curries. Oh and service was hella fast and the staff were very nice.

I had dinner with my work colleagues. We ordered Paratha, their new Garlic cheese nan, palak paneer, lamb biryani, kadai chicken and malai kabobs. My favorite was palak paneer. Malai kabobs were enjoyed by all. For me, the kabobs were great, vegetables in malai were tasty but didn't have much flavor. Kadai chicken was okay- I have eaten better versions and I make one at home so maybe I am biased. Biryani was delicious. The new garlic cheese nan was a new addition to the menu, we tried it- they were good.

Excellent service and delicious food. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the food was so yummy and satisfying. We had veggie samosas to start and our entrees were the chicken tikka masala, shrimp kebab & daal tadka. The tikka masala was absolutely incredible. We ordered garlic naan and onion kulcha and our server recommended we order the bread basket which also included a cheese stuffed garlic naan that paired incredibly with our meal. We were so happy with our experience and will definitely be back again with friends!
