Sheng Kee Bakery

A pretty neat Sheng Kee location, even though they're not as well stocked as the others. The cakes displayed didn't look very fresh. And I didn't see a lot of the other breads usually seen at the other locations. I bought a number of pastries. The sliced Vanilla Sponge Roll, with buttercream, was a rare find. Usually I only see cake rolls with whipped cream sold at Sheng Kee bakeries. Other pastries were average. The Ham & Mushroom Bun had too much ketchup in it. And the Pork Sung Corn Roll was a little too salty. I think the kitchen staff could up their baking skills. The store front staff was courteous, though. So overall, a pretty good experience shopping here.

I purchased an expensive cake that looked really appealing. Despite leaving it in a box for more than 2 hours, we discovered it was mainly frozen after cutting into it. It was embarrassing bringing this thing to someone's home and you hear people asking why it is frozen. It did not appear fresh. I rarely ever review, but they did me dirty here.
