Pizzeria 88

I was really craving some spaghetti the other day and was having a super hard time finding just a simple pasta bar- not a super fancy Italian restaurant. It was really hard finding anything like that, almost all Italian restaurants were fine dining. I was about to give up and just go for pizza at pagliacci instead when this place caught my eye, and they had spaghetti!! Considering I can make enough spaghetti to feed an army at home for like $5, this place was pretty expensive. It was like $15 for a plate of spaghetti. And the spaghetti was nothing special, it tasted like the dry spaghetti that comes from the grocery store, plus it was a bit Al dente. However it did feed my craving so I was happy. The sauce was also pretty good- no complaints there. I also got a side of their focaccia bread which was very delicious. It was like a super thin doughy crust with roasted garlic chunks and a parmesan mix cheese. While I was waiting for my food to be ready, it was happy hour so I enjoyed a drink from their happy hour menu. I can't remember what it was called but it was basically their take on a Moscow mule. It was really good! However my food was ready before I could even get half way thru my drink which tells me that it wasn't fresh- it was premade and reheated. I mean, it was still good and my craving was so bad that I would've done anything for that spaghetti. The service was very good, the guy that was serving me was very polite and helpful. Which, helps you feel like you got you're money's worth.

My friends and I stopped here for dinner last week and the waiter & waitress were both very friendly and kind, especially the curly haired waiter. He came back several times to make sure we had everything we needed and was an extreme gentlemen. The pizzas were amazingly delicious! The decor is also pleasant to admire; cozy yet chic. Would come back here again next time I'm in town!

I dated a guy from Bari, Italy; professor who's whole family made every meal. This is on par with that. This is some of the best Italian food I have experienced inside and out of itally. That come after half a dozen trips to Italy. Hoenslty if Mario took me to a restaurant in his home town of Bari, Italy I would not be surprised if it was exactly like this place!

Amazing food, drinks and desserts. My latest visit introduced me to their Ravioli Al Marsala, which was one of the most decedent and luxurious pasta dishes I've ever had. The sauce had the classic, savory deliciousness of marsala wine and mushrooms-- but then combined with cream for a perfect level of richness and comfort. Together with the al dente, house made raviolis and basil/parsley for garnish, it was really an exceptional dish. I'm not even gonna get into the incredible giant nutella calzone we got for dessert, but I think that one speaks for itself!

Have visited Pizzeria 88 multiple times. Without a doubt, the most authenticate and delicious pizzas and pastas in town. The dough is always fresh making the pizzas taste light and perfect. Tonnes of vegetarian options and the menu is always changing with interesting options. The desserts are also amazing - Tiramisu and the Nutella calzone are what I'd highly recommend. Overall nice setting, friendly service and amazing food.
