Chiquito

Chiquito is a fantastic Mexican restaurant with amazing food. Myself and partner have visited here both at very busy times and at very quiet times, food and service is always great. We've had the pleasure of enjoying many items from their menu - loaded nachos starter, halloumi crunch burger, chimichanga, tacos, spiced fries, loaded fries and churrros. Going off our last visit, we tried the chips & dips - chips were crunchy and dips were tasty & fresh. Loaded fries with chicken and chorizo - mega nice, I thought the jalapeno cheese sauce may have been a bit to artificially cheesy but it really wasn't. Tacos starter - out of the chicken and beef ones we definitely loved the chicken ones more, not to say the beef ones weren't nice as they both certainly were! Chimichanga with pork carnitas - the pineapple salsa was part of the reason I chose to get pork carnitas with my chimichanga and it was worth the choice as it went perfectly with everything packed in there. To finish we had the 4 churros with dulce de leche, churros came out fresh and hot, the dulce de leche was spot on - a perfect end to a really nice meal out. Special thanks to Sam from our last meal here, we always are happy with our service here but Sam really was great on our last visit. He was very helpful with any menu queries, not too distant and not overly attentive to us, a fantastic waiter for our evening out. I'd definitely recommend Chiquito as a nice Mexican restaurant with great service!

First time visiting Chiquitos and we will 100% be coming back! We visited from Derby and even before going I looked at the Menu and thought that there was so many options for everyone! So many Vegetarian options which was amazing! We were greeted when we arrived and was told that there would be a bit of a wait for food as they were short staffed, which was no problem.... We thought it might take 45 minutes after ordering? But no...the drinks arrived, we were taking photos and the food arrived! We were so shocked and greatful! All the staff were so lovely and even though they said they were short staffed there was always someone on hand if we needed to ask for something, they were all upbeat and smiling and really made out experience special. The food arrived hot at all came out at the same time, we were a table of 4 and we ordered, Halloumi and Veg skewer Fajitas and doubled up on it (well worth doubling your meals up if there is an option as it was only £2.50 to do so!) Three lots of Skins on Fries, Two Corn on the Cobs, one Chicken Fajita, a Chimichanga, BBQ Chicken Wings, 1 Pina Colada, 1 Flaming Zombie, 1 Beer and 1 Coke. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of it and couldn't squeeze in a dessert but all of us said how much we enjoyed our food and we would love to come back again! We visited the toilets which were OK, they weren't the best as I assume it was due to staffing issues but they were ok, I really liked that you could open the doors with your foot so you didn't have to touch the handle. We visited here from visiting IKEA and Meadowhall but it is in a great spot for other entertainment like the cinema and bowling. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend! Oh and also you can wear the Sombreros around the Restaurant!!! Amazing!

Helpful and friendly staff. Got a table quick but sometimes might be a wait for a table if after 6pm but they do try to sit you as quick as they can. You can book a table especially if a concert or hockey match is on the same day at the arena. Food was amazing and their mocktails are wonderful. I would highly recommend going and trying the food and drinks. They also have a vegetarian and none vegetarian menus

First visit to this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised!! Despite being pretty busy (it was a Saturday night), the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and the service was fast. Starters and mains were extremely tasty, and well cooked (including the correct spice levels). Special shout-out to Benjamin, who was first rate. Even though extremely busy, he took time to chat which was great
