We just recently moved to Walkley and wanted to have a relaxed Friday evening. Searched Google for a nice pub near us and The Walkley Cottage came up. We couldn't resist Friday fish & chips. The food was very nice, the presentation fantastic and I would love to get their recipe for chunky tartare sauce ;) The atmosphere and staff were very friendly. Really enjoyed our evening after a busy week at work, will definitely come again!

A huge thank you to the staff for letting my daughter and I come in early last week when we got stranded due to snow. The staff were so kind and considerate. The food was wonderful (sausage and mash and quiche) and excellent value. Would come again (in less stressful circumstances hopefully!)

Matt and the team have it totally right. It’s perfect for families friends and everyone in between. The food is fantastic - especially the Sunday lunch. Everyone is welcome and you really feel it. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Great service as ever. Squeezed in a last minute booking of 10. Food arrived promptly and at same time. Everyone enjoyed their food. 2 meals for £15 is a good deal.

Had a Christmas meal here and it was fab. Very reasonably priced at £25 per person for 3 courses. I had the soup, hake and after eight cheesecake and all were delicious! The service is also great.

I really like the walkley cottage, the food is good and the staff are very friendly. It also has a decent beer garden!
We love going here for Sunday lunch. Great food.

Excellent atmosphere, we had a great evening. As a real bonus, we had snakes, lizards, tortoise and even a scorpion for company. An enjoyable night was had by all

We went for Sunday roast and you can't go wrong! It was delicious, had good portions, and was reasonably priced. We had homemade cheesecake and it was nice and fancy. The toilets were very clean and in general, the atmosphere was quite good. We were made welcome at the beginning but then were forgotten by the girls until a very gentlemanly man, which we believe was the owner, came to serve us and was so attentive and friendly, he served us until the end. We definitely will go back again!

We've been to the Walkley Cottage twice since it reopened. The new owner is very friendly and the staff are very helpful. We had the halloumi and chops the first time we went which was excellent and today we ordered from the new small plates menu, again excellent. There was a slight error with one of our dishes but this was corrected quickly and the staff were very apologetic. We will definitely be back for lots more meals out.
