Ernest's Orleans Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge

After ALL the hype and over the moon excited to have a romantic dinner.....this would NOT be the case. Service was slow, 2 other tables were served, salads, drinks and entrees before we were served. Did I mention we were there before them? Plus we were NOT given a menu to order, we had to ask for a menu. Food was not up to par with all the hype we had experienced wanting and talking about going. The steak I was served was NOT what my husband ordered for me. It was smothered in some sort of heavy sauce, drowning it! Staff appeared to not know very much what she was doing or what her position required. The saving grace for this experience was the piano player and singer. Magnificent job young man!! He kept us entertained while we waited 2 hours to even get out food. WE HAD A RESERVATION!! The other tables had ate, paid and left. And we stepped over to the most beautiful and kind ladies to wish them happy Birthday. We made new friends and have plans to meet in the near future. So thank you for that!! So if you can take a hard pass on a romantic dinner here....you will wish you had listened. Over priced food, poor service.

We were really disappointed with the whole experience at Ernest’s Orleans Restaurant. We ended the night bagging all the uneaten steaks, so they could be taken home to a dog. We had a party of 7 people celebrating a birthday and graduation. Our waiter, bless is heart, just could not remember our drink orders or our main dinner orders. Most of our attendee's ordered steak which was a mistake because they all came out still moving. We requested four medium well steaks and one well done. They were sent back three different times (no really), and each time a new steak was on the plate and it was medium rare. The wait time to receive our main course was very long; we were not the only one’s at the restaurant complaining. I’m so sorry to say, the taste was not worth the wait nor the price you pay. With great expectations, I was left with a big fat bill and hunger pains. Mr. Ernest came out and apologized. The meal was still terrible.

As always, Tommy the Waiter makes the play for a birthday meal touchdown for my Mother with my Father and lovely lady Faire. It’s ALWAYS an Olde School charmer of a night when you dine at Ernest’s. I’ve been coming here since I could (mostly) legally order a Brandy Alexander for a dessert drink which is always incomparable. The crab claws-extraordinary. Shrimps Ernie-touched by God and served with the flourish of a true Master. Dark and luxurious, the atmospheric attraction will forever be my favorite. Thank you all again for a most lovely and enjoyable evening.
