Deep Cove Chalet

My Wife is a Chef and we have so much trouble finding great places to go. We will go to the extreme lengths to find great restaurants in B.C. and the pacific northwest. This place is Fantastic, one of the best restaurants we have been to ever. All 4 of us tasted each of our appetizers and Mains. We all agreed that every item was sublime. It was just as good as Le crocodile and Hawksworth and there meal portions are wayyyy bigger that both of them. I was surprised by how good it was and that hasn't happened at a restaurant for years. The Menu has not changed in 50 years and Chef Owner Pierre cooks every meal served. The wine menu is world-class and worthy of a sommeliers dream cellar. The property that the restaurant is on is a multi-million dollar Ocean front paradise worthy of the Rich and Famous. The only draw back is Pierre is getting a little older and when he retires it won't be the same. So make a reservation months in advance and enjoy a heaven on earth dinning experience. You won't be Sorry. Troy

We had an excellent birthday lunch here last weekend. The gentleman taking care of our table was super professional and just lovely. He really was the cherry on top. The wine list is impressive and prices are quite attractive. The menu is classic French so settle in for a rich buttery experience and the price tag thats goes with. We went as a group after paddle boarding in summer attire (flip flops and shorts) and were fine attire wise, we definitely were the more casually dressed group in the place though.

Loved everything there. Great experience. Our waitress Meghan was delightful. Went for lunch and dinner during our 1 week stay in the country. We are not rich, but it was affordable for this type of restaurant compare to US. Will go again when in Canada next time. Didn't have a chance to get in last year as we didn't have the reservation. Don't know what Alex is complaining about. He probably has not well behaved children, so I could understand the owner...

You're not going to find a better dining atmosphere then this beautiful rural location overlooking a cove, the resident golden retriever welcoming you at the door before it goes to scamper down to the beach. We prefer to eat inside, but the outside dining next to the garden is very popular. We sat drinking wine at the window, watching a heron land on a little pile of rocks where someone had made a number of inukshuks (Inuit stone carvings representing humans). The service is warm and accommodating. For appetizers, my wife had the onion tart, and I had the morel puff pastry - both delicious. My wife had the halibut for dinner (her standard), and I had the curried scallops, a meal I eat as slowly as possible just to savor. As my wife was full, I was forced to enjoy the lemon souffle by myself. I believe it's my favourite dessert in Victoria. This is our go-to special dining experience - and of course, we'll be back.
