Maverick Texas Bbq

I don't often write reviews for food, but this food was exceptional and deserves the praise. I’ve eaten Mavericks Texas BBQ ribs, pulled pork, and brisket before so I knew when they were offering a Thanksgiving holiday package it would be delicious. We also wanted to support small businesses in this crazy time and we wanted to make our holiday a little easier. We were not disappointed ,we were delighted at the portion sizes of turkey and sides. Reheating was a breeze and when we cut into the turkey it was juicy. Perfectly smoked for white meat and very flavorful. The sides, oh the sides! Pecan praline sweet potato casserole was perfection, not too sweet as some can be. The cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy was as good if not better then I would have made myself. I also added the Pumpkin cheese cake on to the package, well worth it! It was a creamy dream! You could tell loving care went into all the food the Maverick staff prepared, I think that is bc it is a family run business. Looking forward to patronizing their establishment again soon, excited to eat some more Maverick Magic melt in your mouth meals!

Been twice now and I must say the brisket and the chicken are awesome. The pulled pork and ribs were decent. Came with 2 different types of sauce and both paired well with the meats. Wasn't too crazy about the sides or the gumbo I tried. The gumbo actually did taste good, but there was little to no meat in it. The staff is very friendly and prices are reasonable. I spent a little over $40 and it easily fed 4 people.

Wow!!! Large potions of meat, delicious seasoning and great sides (homemade). Highly recommended, one order of 3 meats is large enough for 2 people. Great value for your money. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Has outside seating and additional seating upstairs. Great central location, plenty of parking for a Saturday!! Awesome!!

My favorite place for BBQ. I've tried everything on the menu and have no complaints about anything. My favorite is the brisket, I recommend getting it 50/50 so you get the best of both worlds. The pulled pork, amazing, the ribs, ham, literally everything is mouth watering. I love that they give you sauce on the side instead of on the meat, but it's so good that I rarely use the sauce. The portion sizes are great and everyone is always friendly. I wish they were open more days during the week, but it does give me something to look forward to. If you're not sure what to get, try the sampler platter.

What an incredible experience. It’s a beautiful historic building with a great vibe with the wood floors and restored exterior. Legit smoker from Texas. The ribs are off the hook! Best ribs I’ve ever eaten. When the smoked prime rib is available as a special, don’t hesitate to try. World class desserts, too. My son and I love the peanut butter pie when available. The trip will not disappoint. If you have only had Famous Dave’s and think that‘s great. You will be experiencing an exponential jump in quality!

Review Update: Last visit was great. Staff and owner very nice. Everyone loved what they ordered and even got to sample some of their newer items on the menu. The banana pudding dessert was excellent flavor and texture. ============ We really liked the brisket. The pulled pork was also really liked by our group. The Mac & Cheese didn't have enough cheese for us. We will be back to try other offerings. Hopefully things will be more polished in the future.
