Big Bopper Drive-in

This place is at the edge of town perfect place to chow down after you had some local wine or some nice craft beer & grabbed all the buckets of cookies and Danish pastries your 2 hands can hold it’s time for a nice juicy burger ! And some more beer ! Perfect pairing ! Shout out to the girl at the register she was super friendly while taking our order and hooked it up with some nicely roasted chiles !!!! Yum ! If you know …. I feel bad saying this, but the food was downright disgusting. Hands down the worst restaurant in Solvang and one of the worst restaurants I have been to in a long time. I went because of the spacious patio dining so I could bring my dog. Aside from the outdoor seating and friendly staff, everything else was terrible. I spent $17 on a Pork sandwich and a regular-sized drink. The roll the sandwich was on was stale. The pork was old, dried out, and mainly fat. The fires were half cooked and overly seasoned. Nothing was good. I had to throw it away after two bites. Perhaps I should have ordered a burger and caught them on a bad day, but I feel I need to leave this review because what I paid and what I was served in terms of quality, were unacceptable. I should have just asked for my money back and regret that I didn't.

We were very excited to find this place but after eating the food we were disappointed. It was very bland. We ordered fish and chips -substituted fries with fried zucchini, and a double hamburger wrapped in lettuce -no bun. The food wasn’t horrible but definitely disappointing. The fried fish patty was shaped like a deck of cards (didn’t even look like fish) and the zucchini was so thickly breaded that one could barely taste the zucchini. The only thing I can say about the burger is that it was cooked - bland and not juicy. I get the impression that this place has no interest in providing delicious tasting food.
