Spartan Bakery

They use to be good years ago.....but today I picked up my son's cake I ordered for him last week Friday and the lady automatically circled buttercream with out asking me and then I get there today and my cake isn't ready at all!!!! I had wait 30 mins for them to throw something together... They gave me 10 back for having to wait....for starters We got to the party there was a piece of hair inside the box on the side of the thing that the cake sat on... And at this point I didn't have time to go back cause they were closing and I was on other side of town and the cupcakes were DRY... The icing tasted old everyone at the party complained abt the cupcakes being dry and not tasting that good specially for it to be coming from Spartan bakery considering y'all use to be really good back in the day...

They didn’t disappoint. My baby loved her cake…I love Ms. Wanda and her crew bc they’re always friendly and they make sure you don’t leave disappointed….I love their square cakes and pound cakes as well…y’all definitely need to try if you haven’t already…I’m pretty sure I’ll be bk before this month is out 😂😂😂

We reached out to Spartan Bakery about doing our wedding cake, we came by, picked a few flavors to try and came back a week or so later. When we returned, they had two cupcakes of each flavor for us to try.... We had about a dozen! We did not like the white cake and to be honest, we don't like white cake. So no judgement here. We ended up falling in love with the Strawberry and Butter Pecan. While going over the designs, they informed us that they would make us a fresh top tier cake for our one year anniversary. We left with a major sugar high and extremely excited about our wedding. Come wedding day.... Dare I say OH MY GOSH! I will let the pictures do the talking. We did not get to enjoy the butter pecan so I went by there to see if I could pick up a few. They were out but said they would make some for me and she was excited to share a new flavor with me, strawberry champagne. This cupcake has a lighter strawberry flavor than the cake that we enjoyed, however, it was extremely delicious! I highly recommend Spartan Bakery for any of your cupcake and cake needs.

Buyer BEWARE! I have bought cakes from them most all my life, but never again! Several months ago, I had just had surgery and was craving "bakery cake," so my husband made the trip to get us a dozen cake squares. The first bite I took tasted like baking soda. We could not eat them. I called and spoke with the owner/manager (? Diane) and explained what happened. She said that happens if they're not fresh. She apologized, took my name and said to stop by when we were in the area again and tell them she said to give me a "fresh dozen." Today, I stopped by to get the cake squares as promised. The employee asked my name and went to the back. She appeared several minutes later and said "she cant find it, and anyway you only had 30 days to come and get them." I said, she didn't say I had a time limit, but that's okay. I left feeling like I was the one who had done something wrong! I hope losing a lifelong customer was worth a dozen cake squares! Also, my sister was with me and she tried to order a birthday cake for her grandson and was told they were not taking any more cake orders this week. It's a bakery....who ever heard of not being able to get a cake at a bakery....? Additionally, I was going to purchase cheese straws and brownies for an upcoming event, but after feeling like I was trying to get something for nothing, I decided to spend my money elsewhere. I recommend Strossner's Bakery in Greenville. It's a little more pricey, but it's always clean, their products are delicious and their customer service is always fantastic, so it's definitely worth it.
