Steak 'n Shake

We had a long wait but the cook and our waitress was very nice and keeping us up to date. They where very short handed. One cook in the back. The cook was always apologizing for the wait. The cook was also running drive they and being a cook at the same time and doing dishes when he had a chance to go and get them. Cooks name was Richard. Our waitress names is Desiree.

So I am unsure what management is doing for the wait staff. My waitress messed up a couple things, no big deal. I saw two walkouts who sit down forever and never had their order taken. Best part was watching another waitress deliver food while on her cellphone. Food was alright. Shake was so so, really not sure what is going on at this location but I blame management. You don't see that many things are wrong in one visit without leadership problems. Won't be back.

The bathroom is disgusting. Smelled awful. Everything is wet. Falling apart. They have 3 hand sanitizer dispensers and all 3 are empty. All I could wonder is how indicative the bathroom is of the condition of the test of the building (like food prep areas). Burger was tasty. Fries were limp and cold. Menus dirty. Ketchup and mustard clogged with dried clumps in their spouts. Drinks were forgotten. Would not recommend.

Poor experience, wouldn't recommend. Fries were cold, Frisco melt and one burger missing sauce. Charged us for cheese sauce but didn't put it in the bag. Also ended up not giving us any straws for any of our drinks. The person taking orders and at the drive through window clearly hated his job and was pretty rude and short. Even when he handed us the card back, drinks and food and I thanked him he said nothing. A lid wasn't on a shake all the way which caused it to spill in our car. I asked him for extra napkins and told him what happened and he just said okay but then didn't give us extra napkins. I regret spending my money at this establishment.

Wow I am so disappointed in this place. I have been going to Steak n Shake for over 40 years. Worst meal I have had. No quality control at all. To call the fries warm would be an exaggeration and they were still greasy. But the real sad part was the Frisco Melt. There was more sauce leaked through the bun than was inside the sandwich. The bread was almost twice the size of the burger and was just soaked in sauce/grease. The cheese was cold and there was enough butter/grease to cook the fries again. You can’t blame this on covid. Just poor quality control which comes from poor management. Used to be one of my favorite burger spots. I will need to rethink this. I was wishing I had gone to the McDonalds down the street. If this is the new norm I am not going back. I added the menu pic next to my pic.
