Ichiban Buffet

My wife and I went on a Friday night around 6:30 and all the food was being put out fresh. They refilled our drinks at least twice in the time we were there. It’s a typical buffet as far as options and we were satisfied upon leaving. The service left nothing to be desired, but four stars for the overall atmosphere; the carpet was pretty dirty and it was just a little dated. Also, there is a terribly dirty fish tank at the entrance that could use some attention.

Like most place these days drinks add up in price to not be kept full, but understand ably as they were quite popular and busy. The sushi bar was good and kept cold unlike other places I've been. The food was seasoned well and the host/servers/check-out were very friendly. Overall a place we would visit again when in the area!

Very nice place with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly servers/hosts. Well kept with clean floors and efficiently bussed tables. The food is also very good for the price point (except the calamari, steer clear if you don't enjoy lightly salted rubber), with a decent and semi frequently shifting assortment of foods.

Rice was undercooked, seemed that most of the food had been seasoned pretty well except they added white sugar to everything? Spicy and savory food all had an overly sweet taste. The “sushi” had no fish sauce on the rice… over all for the price about $12.00 it’s a cheep way of getting full, food was all edible just not good. Service was fine, seemed as clean as any other Asian buffet. Recommend for the average Missourian who doesn’t know any better.

Took one of my Christian Brothers there, after making a big move to Joplin. The food was amazingly fresh, they weren't afraid to put the spices in their food (Mongolian beef), the potsticker / dumplings we're very crispy on the outside and very moist on the inside... Basically very well done! There were so many choices there was no way I was going to taste everything! They even had pizza, and chicken nuggets for the kids. The staff was very efficient and friendly! Will definitely be taking my family there the next time I go!

Food was not good at all! I was only able to eat about 1/3 of a plate. Basically just the breaded shrimp. The sushi area was completely emptied. The main host was very kind and kept apologizing because there was not much food anywhere. He said they would make more of whatever I wanted but I didn't want to have to go up there and order one of this and one of this, ect. It's a buffet, and not a cheap one. They should have had the food already made. The 2 types of sushi they did go ahead and make were sloppy and flavorless. Then he brings the bill, but when I go to pay the cashier she doubles the bill! I'm not sure if the host was under charging because he knew I wasn't satisfied (due to the amount of food waste) or what but he rung it up one amount. The I get up there and she ask him some stuff, they chat a sec and then she doubles it. 🙄 I didn't complain because I have been there other times and was good. Not sure if they changed cooks /recipes or just it was just later in the evening. Probably won't go back since we have such a surplus of places in Springfield.

Called ahead and they said they had all you can eat crab legs. Today was Mothers Day so they had $14.99 all day seafood buffet. We were here over an hour and they only brought crab legs out twice, 3 half legs at a time and people would take all of them at once!! Would take another 30 minutes for 3 more half legs. Nothing really had flavor or was full the whole time. Won't be coming back.
