Cielito Lindo Mexicano Restaurante

The hostess that seated was very nice. She brought us chips and salsa right away. The salsa was not very flavorful.It was about another 15 min before we received water and our order was taken. The food took a long time to come out compared to other Mexican restaurants and when it did it was just barely warm. The food was good though. Our water glasses were never refilled.

I wish I could give it less. I started eating my Texas fajitas until I noticed a foul smell. The shrimp was bad. Both my sister and I noticed it. We're both chefs so we knew instantly it was bad. She tried to make me more shrimp and argued that it was fresh and she didn't notice the smell. I refused to continue eating the fajitas because of cross contamination worried I'd get sick. She still charged me for the food. I didn't say the beans or anything. I ate one tortilla and she got an attitude claiming I ate the entire fajita. She then said whatever just leave it on the counter you don't have to pay. I don't mind paying for anything just give me good food. However,I will never go back off the fact you can't establish the difference between good and bad shrimp. On the way out I hear her say "don't bring customers like that back" as if I was wrong. That was very unprofessional and uncalled for. My sister now has diarrhea. Word of advice, smell your food and make sure it's fresh and safe to eat.

There is no place in town (or the world, that I know of) that can make a chili relleno like this restaurant!! Their guacamole is incredible, their rice is perfect, their cheese sauce and salsa is wonderful and the shrimp and steak fajitas are to die for! Their lunch specials are more than affordable, so it leaves room in your pocketbook for a Margarita. I'm from the Ozarks, but over my lifetime I have traveled to most of the USA and to 24 countries, and I always come back to Cielito Lindo on National and Battlefield in Springfield, Missouri. I frequently take my whole family there for special occasions.
