Kona Cafe Hawaiian Barbecue

Delicious BBQ meats. The hubby and I ordered the Big Kahana because we live 2 hours away and wanted to try a little bit of everything. The best item on the plate was the pulled pork. It was tender and flavorful. The teriyaki chicken was also delicious. The ribs were fantastic, with a unique Hawaiian style sauce that was a welcome change from the norm. I didn't care much for the volcano chicken. The spiciness of the sauce detracted from overall flavor. Two young people worked a busy dinner rush alone and did a great job of keeping up.

One of my all time favorite hole-in-the-wall authentic eateries. Love that you can smell the bar-b-que cooker outside and the staff is always great. It's a bit of a drive from the more populated areas of Eugene, Springfield but well worth it. Just make sure to call in an order if it's getting towards evening, as they cook in the morning and when they're out, they're out.

My partner and I have always loved their food, but just recently when we stopped in for some comfort food, we walked in on (who if I’m not mistaken is the owner) wearing improper and downright dangerous PPE. Specifically, a visor, with no mask. Meaning as she stands over the foods she’s preparing, there is zero barrier between your food and her breath particulates. We turned right around and left. If you’re trying to stay safe from Covid, avoid this place at all costs!
