Hafle Winery

My wife and I had visited Hafle Winery about a year or so ago before moving to Springfield. The meal and service were very good then. Now that my wife and I have moved to Springfield, we are getting out to the local restaurants and finally got a chance to revisit Hafle Winery. We were not disappointed. When we arrived, the owner, Dan Hafle greeted us right away and showed us to a table on the patio. The server had just got hit with a 16 topper before us and we were expecting a long wait. Dan jumped right in and took our drink orders and delivered them back quickly. By then the server had taken her large order and came right over to our table and was very friendly. About this time the mosquitoes were coming out and we thought we were going to be eaten alive, but the server gave us bug repellent wipes. I have never been offered those while sitting on a patio, but I think every outdoor restaurant should start doing this because it saved the entire experience. Our Oktoberfest food arrived just the way we ordered it. Both of us thought the food was top notch, the portions were large and the price was reasonable. We did not leave hungry. Dan was very friendly, checked on us regularly and talked to us like we were old friends. To say the least we will be back and are looking forward to the winter Italian menu.
