Surrey Hills Fish And Chips

Have had orders from Surrey Hills Fish & chips over many years & have been pleased. The last two occasions have been via uber eats. The meal has been very disappointing, in fact appalling. Dim sims , too long in bain maree, dry & tasteless, mussells in batter were stale & tasted accordingly, potato cakes were over cooked & almost inedible, the flake was only just passable but still way overcooked. Will be looking elsewhere for fish & chips in future.

Deserves no star rating but have to select 1 star to be able to post!! This place used to be so good and now the food is just awful. The fish, chips and potato cakes ordered were so overcooked and tasted terrible. Don't run a fish and chips business if you can't cook basic good old fashioned fish and chips. Reply to owner's reply: I didn't know you classified burnt and overcooked food as "crispy" - guess you don't know the difference !

This place used to be very good. It isn't anymore and what happened today made me certain I'm not going back. I called my order in, the phone line was terrible. I disconnected and called back 3 times using 3 different phones, it didn't improve. I gave my order as: 1 Hamburger with the lot plus pineapple 1 Grilled flake 1 Hotdog in batter 1 Scallop 1 Fish Cake 2 Dim Sims 3 Potato Cakes Minimum chips 1Aoili Sauce He read it back to me. Was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 10 mins later but left the shop 25 minutes later after paying $34.50 for the above. No big deal, they were busy. Got home to find the Fish cake and 3 potato cakes missing. That meant one person in our house only chips to eat! Called the shop, he swore he didn't charge me for the Fish cake and the potato cakes. I told him that he read it back to me when I ordered. He said the line was bad so he didn't hear everything. I can't find a recent menu with prices online to verify if I got what I paid for. It doesn't matter. They left a kid hungry and were "too busy" to fix it. They won't be busy feeding our family ever again.
