Concrete Jungle Cafe

I was recommended Concrete Jungle Cafe for brunch by a local and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful interior, open kitchen, abundance of seating and a lovely glass brick feature bar. Staff were super friendly. Food was reasonably priced for the portion size. Not your standard cafe options, see the pork rib in the pics (rich and full of flavor but very tasty).

Nice restaurant, ok service because the woman who served me didn’t offer water when she did for everyone else. I ordered egg Benedict but the bring it with brisket which was shocking because normally egg Benedict come with egg 🪺 and bread 🍞 and they charged me around 45 with the coffee ☕️ so what I did I had the coffee and I left the meat 🥩 because it was around 9:30 I think. overall it was a ok experience

From when I walked in I noticed the servers looked a bit lost like they didn’t know what they were doing and that should have been a sign for me to walk out but… Service wasn’t up to basic standards. I ordered the simplest item on the menu - scrambled eggs on toast - and didn’t even get a chance to eat it. It took a lot longer than it should for them to get to my order, by that time I was already late for an appointment. I asked for take away instead and was told it was ready. It should have taken a minute to put my order in a container but about 8 minutes later I was still waiting for it. I asked if it was really ready and the lady said ‘no’. I ended up just paying for my drinks and leaving. It didn’t look too busy so I was surprise it took so long to make scrambled eggs. Also, I’m almost sure they just served my order to someone else instead of making it take away. After I said I just wanted to pay for my drink I saw the waiter say something to the chef who threw a towel angrily on the counter and walked away. The kitchen is not hidden away so customers can see everything and this type of behaviour in front of people isn’t a good look.

A little disappointed at the Benny because there’s literally one slice of meat. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more to get extra piece of meat, though it is already pricey here. My friend got a burger, it is nice but is placed on a tiny plate, and it’s hard to use cutlery, I mean you’ll want to eat burger with your hands but it’s big and could be messy so I guess a bigger plate would help a lot.

We had our Valentine’s day date night here. Menu is mostly dishes to be shared; we had crab rolls, tuna tartare and the trout, and the beef tartare which was fantastic. Food came very quickly, which was good because I was starving. There is a nice selection of drinks as well. Overall a nice dinner for a very decent price.
