Funky Monkey Cafe At Newtown

I've dropped by the Funky Monkey a couple of times. Being at the Southern end of Newtown it's easier to find parking, especially during morning peak hour - just when the morning munchies hit. The coffee is always good, service with a smile but the big discovery is their omelettes. I think I've found the most PERFECTLY cooked omelette in the world! Really! They are that good. If you don't believe me, try one yourself.

Love this place. Very well priced. The staff are lovely. Possibly the most popular cafe servicing many of the local Newtown shop owners each day. Great selection of typical brekky/lunch options. It's not fancy fare but rather things like bacon and egg roll, hamburger, salad sandwiches, croissants. I think at a time where so much of Newtown is trendy/unrecognisable/ hard to pronounce deconstructed dishes made up of bacon mousse, tumeric essence bites, truffle breads etc food - people just keep coming back here for reliably good food (the way it used to be) :) Customers are always down to earth - the place has a chilled feel with newspapers available. Definitely recommend!!!
