Dumpling Bar @ Loftus

Terrible food and very very bad attitude , Was dining in and ordered another dish for my colleague take away, colleague wanted it with extra vegetables, not only they stuffed up the order and put he vegetables in the dine in and when asked, was told to not eat the vegetables and put it in the take away container. Even though I mentioned it was for a colleague the chef came out and asked me to put the vegetables from my plate in to the Take away container after eating my noodles, any chef who thinks that is ok to take food from a plate after eating and server it to an another person, makes you wonder what they do with left over. When I said that is unacceptable, I was told unless I pay for the whole dish again they will. It fix up their mistake. Couldn't believe these people run a restaurant! Avoid at all cost!!!

EXCELLENT food. Got the pork dumplings with soup inside... Very good. My dining partner got a lamb dish and adored it. I followed up with pork buns because I couldn't stand not eating all I could at this restaurant before I left the country and those were to die for also. Much of the menu looked delicious, I regret regret living a 17 hour flight from this restaurant, too far to likely come again, as I suspect it would be a place I would frequent. I wish I could have tried more food.

Food is ok, without being great. Prices are bordering on outrageous .... we bought the duck pancakes, which comprised 4 small pancakes, and about a teaspoon of duck (if you were lucky in each), and this was $18.00. Similarly the dumplings were ok, but pricey, so much better value elsewhere. To make it even more annoying, it's all self service, with no table service.

Ordered the stir fried duck and vegetable egg noodles. Took a long time to come out even though there were only two other occupied tables (no more than 5 other people). The noodles were cold and tasteless. One of us ordered the avocado and duck San Choy Bow. It came out long after the rest of us were finished. there was a drunk guy (slurring, spilling stuff, couldn't walk straight, even sleeping on a table at one point) and they were continuing to serve him alcohol (someone actually said to the staff to stop serving him). considering the noodles cost $17 I really don't understand how this place is still open. Wish I'd read the reviews previously. Someone claimed to find flies in their soup!

We should have known better as the place was empty on a Friday night but given it was raining and we had tried 2 others places that had long waiting lists we thought we would give it a go. The decor was interesting it looked liked they tried and had some trendy pieces but the tables looked tired. The further we got inside parts felt like an RSL. They were not able to advise on any gluten free options so we ordered what we assumed was a safe stir fried rice noodles with beef which didn't taste like anything.. we would of preferred eating cardboard. Will we come back here.. absolutely not. Will we recommend Loftus... absolutely NOT. Signed - two undersatiafied diners

Excellent casual/relax dumpling eatery place. Very popular. Relocated to 167 kent street, millers point. Food remains yummy at the new location. Has a front terrace area for food and drinks.
