Tara Sushi Bar

Second time patronising Tara Sushi Bar. Lots of sushi varieties and the waitress was very responsive in taking orders. We had a very pleasant dining experience. 😊 While the Sashimi are fresh 👍🏼and other sushi are fabulous, we find most of the fried items(soft shell crab, teriyaki salmon, octopus karage, Agedashi tofu) over salty.

Great value for money! I went for the all you can eat option for $39 (includes soft drink and dessert). I highly recommend to order the special sushis: Dragon, Volcano and scallop sushis were my favourites. The sashimi was fresh and tasty. The waitress was friendly and the creme brulee was better than expected!

I can totally understand the mix reviews of this place but I had a great experience here. Probably best to not come in a group that has more than 4 people otherwise you will be sitting around the sushi train and it does feel a bit cramped because the place is small. Sushi was really great! Heaps of variety to sushi and sides choose from. Was happy with customer service as they provided an ice bucket for my wine as they do BYO and other things. And just a tip to try ordering from the menu as the sushi is freshly made. The sushi that's on the train can be cold and not the best. However, I feel like Tara deserves a good review for last night! Thanks.

It’s really hard to fault the value you get here getting the AYCE special. You can pick from the train or order directly off the menu. The sushi is fresh, the quality is good, there is an enormous variety of choices and some quite creative rolls I’ve never seen before. I WILL be going back. In fact this will be my regular sushi place when I’m feeling like I want to gorge a bit.

I came back here after visiting three weeks before, expecting the same level of fresh and tasty sushi that I experienced the first time. Was disappointed to find that the chefs had changed and the quality of the food was mediocre at best, decomposing at the worst. My friends and I came in for the $39 all you can eat option, but after realising how poor the sushi was made and that we were about to give ourselves food poisoning if we continued, I decided to just pay for my dishes individually and leave. The sushi train was almost empty and barely had any new plates being put on. Ordering from the menu ended up in a 30-45 minute wait for items that were as basic as a salmon nigiri or sashimi. The fish itself didn't taste fresh or have the firm texture and vibrant colour that fresh raw fish should have. Another concern would be the apparent lack of hygiene of the chefs. I watched one of them sneeze without any mouth covering or washing hands afterwards while preparing food - he just turned his head to the left to sneeze and kept going on! On the plus side, the waitress was hard working and quite attentive and kind to my group. We could tell she was doing her best to take care of the customers and the delay in food orders was due to poor management rather than her.

Astonishing! All the sushi you can eat in 1 hour except the train was empty so we had to order, which is fine but the plates didn't come out for 30 mins even though place was empty. Good thing we were so turned off by the food because if we wanted to eat more, it wouldn't have come out in time anyway. Didnt eat most of the Sashimi. Salmon Sashimi was warm and chewy. Kingfish Sashimi was cold but on the brink of decomposition. Tasted like the back of a fishmarket in the middle of summer. Tuna Sashimi was good. Seared Salmon was also good but am worried is came from the same fish that the Sashimi came from.
