Wei Long Hakka Cuisine

It's reasonably priced especially with Groupon deals on and the place is very clean and nicely decorated with very friendly staff. However the food there tastes very mild which tastes like everything is lacking in flavour. It may be the style of cooking but it doesn't suit my tastes. The quail egg and pineapple dish was especially disappointing considering how delicious it sounded. The salt and pepper squid went the opposite direction and was way too salty. My friends said that's just how this cuisine is so it may be a regional quirk.

Poor service , slightly overpriced , salty dishes . It caught my attention on my last trip to Sydney from Melbourne and I was so excited to find a Hakka cuisine in Sydney as I was born in a Hakkanese family So I put it on my list decided to try it on my next visit .Unfortunely it was not a good dinning experience . I contacted the restaurant via FB and IG and waited for a week , no response so I called to make a booking for 3 . Went there on Friday night , it was raining and wasn't busy at all , 2 waitress serving 4-5 tables . We couldn't decide what to eat . Asked staff for recommendations and the waitress didn't help much , she literally read the menu for me and recommended half of what was on the menu . so many dishes I had never seen but she didn't explain anything . Ended up ordering a Taro fish head , hot stone cauliflower bowl , salty buried chicken and hakka style stir fried noodle. The taro fish head was a shocker , it was grilled salmon head soup with taro and it was extremely salty . the chicken and stir fried noodle was ok but nothing special ; the cauliflower bowl was served in a hot stone with mixed veg but veg overcooked and salty . don't think will ever visit again .

Delicious southern Chinese cuisine at okish prices, very prominently located with contemporary take on traditional eastern decor, suitable for daily meals or casual occasions. Not suitable for romantic or business meals. Food took a long time to be served, but a good variety of choices to pair with a standard wine menu. The best seats are at the front with lofty ceiling and floor windows. Worst seats are lower ground floor near the bathrooms. A decent reso Worth checking out.
