Cafe 10

The staff are professional, the food is good and so are the coffees. There is a huge emphasis on freakin rice. Or the "filler" parts of a dish they sell. No matter how many times you ask them to only give you half rice, they will still give you the same amount. It seems like they think the rice IS the part of the dish you're buying. When you eventually give tired of throwing out a whole portion of rice every time you buy there and ask for no rice it gets interesting. They don't give you the rice... But give you the same portion you would get if you bought one straight out. This would be fine, except they still charge you for the full meal. Do yourself a favour, walk to Central Park - go to level 3 food court. They're happy to leave out the rice there, and give you your money's worth.

THIS PLACE HAS GOTTEN ME THROUGH LOCKDOWN. While it used to be somewhere I walked by and never thought twice about, I am now forever grateful that I decided to take a chance on this little spot. They are very covid safe. You never enter the restaurant and they bring your food outside. For $10 (all dishes) you can try a variety of fresh and delicious Vietnamese dishes. While it is not the best food I’ve ever had, it’s excellent for the $10 price, good portions, friendly staff, and covid safe environment has me here at least once a week. I love the vermicelli salad with vegetable spring rolls and my partner loves the beef pho. Everything I’ve tried is great. Don’t sleep on Cafe 10 mates.

Café 10 has been my daily stop for morning coffees, and random lunches and snacks for more than 8 1/2 years, as well as occasional take-home dinners. Their upbeat, super-fast baristas serve great coffee with an efficiency not yet found anywhere else (and I live in the centre of coffee-land at Surry Hills!). My work colleagues and I find ourselves making negative mental comparisons when buying coffee from other places that, inevitably, can never match up to the efficiency of Café 10 baristas. When Café 10 is forced to close over the Dec/Jan university semester-breaks, we are left to scrounge around for coffee that is not consistently as good as Café 10, nor made anywhere near as quickly. Cafe 10 has a daily changing menu of very tasty, hot food – cooked fresh in their onsite kitchen every morning (Asian-infusion plus pastas and an array of other non-Asian dishes). Pho's, congees, laksas are highly recommended. Lots of fantastic gourmet bread-roll options, as well as delicious banh-mi rolls. Their daily-made rice-paper rolls are also very popular. Additionally, their kitchen staff will cook food to order such as fish and chips, burgers, etc. etc.They also provide catering to nearby buildings. The café itself is large, spacious and very clean. The staff are super-friendly and, with their regular customers, can frequently be heard in friendly repartee. Today my organisation is relocating from UTS Building 10 at 235 Jones Street Ultimo to suburbia. We are looking at a future without the friendly, efficient service of Café 10 staff and their wonderful coffee and food every day.
