Molo Bar

I had dinner at Molo Wine Bar in Wolloomoolloo to celebrate my fiftieth birthday. It was a beautiful setting and the teal blue lighting created the perfect Mediterranean atmosphere. The menu was Italian and seafood inspired but offered a lot of lovely choices. I had the crab linguine which was delicious. The compressed watermelon dessert with cucumber granita was absolutely perfect.

Pretty horrible experience. Service was terrible, they were understaffed and incredibly slow to take an order and to bring out the drinks that were ordered. More importantly, they took a $400 "deposit" from my card when I made the booking and decided NOT to deduct it from the bill and NOT to refund it to me. Days later I realised what had happened, I called them to ask for a copy of the bill however they didn't easily agree to give it to me but instead "assured me that it was definitely deducted from the bill". I had to insist to see the bill itself. Needless to say a quick refund was processed that day. Check your bills when you dine at MOLO or Manta!

Excellent place on the pier for an afternoon drink and bite to eat watching the sunset. Perfect place to visit on a summer evening. The staff were absolutely fantastic, extremely attentive and very professional. We had a beautiful Bellini and a Hugo with fresh mint. The food was very quickly prepared and hot and delicious. The petit fours were home made and had such delicious chocolate truffles that my friend asked if he could buy a dozen to take home. The waiter asked the kitchen and to our pleasant surprise obliged. Very reasonably priced for such high quality food in a very chic location. The decor is modern french style, bright and colourful pastels, with fresh white lilies on the counter. If it wasn’t for the unseasonably cold rainy weather you could feel like you were in Nice! Highly recommend after a visit to the Art Gallery and will be back again.

Lovely place. Great Italian centric wine menu. Didn’t have the food but had cocktails. A warning to potential cocktail enthusiasts... we asked for something not on the menu and were unknowingly charged extremely exorbitant prices. Most expensive price we’ve ever paid for a martini. Advice is ask for pricing if it’s not on the menu or you’ll cop a dose of Bill shock when it comes time to pay!
