Cafe Chocolat Amp Plaza

Cafe Chocolat is in the MLC building Martin Place, near the King street entrance. I sometimes come here for hot chocolates or coffee. They have an huge range of chocolate truffles out the front in the display window. Some of them are really creative. They have easter specials on at the moment. I find pricing is a little on the steep side but that's city prices for you

I LOVE this place. When I want a treat I always get turkish toast with butter and nutella for breakfast $3.90 which I think is pretty good value especially as the portion size is very good. The chocs and cakes look amazing although I am yet to try those. The service is fast and friendly. I deducted one point only because the lady doing the food at the back of the outlet has got my order wrong twice and put peanut butter instead of nutella. Not great if one was allergic to nuts. But otherwise I would highly highly recommend this place. It's always pumping first thing in the morning.

Milkshakes are amazing but their math skills are lacking. I ordered a snickers milkshake $7.50 on almond milk $0.50. She charged me $10. When I questioned it she argued and said it was extra for the syrup. A colleague said no, just the $7.50 And the extra $0.50 for the milk. So she handed me $1. I was tired so didn't argue again even though I was owed another $1. Her colleagues them discussed how the extra charge for syrup was only for hot drinks, milkshakes came with the flavour. But, I wasn't offered my outstanding money. Highly unimpressed.

Must try their snickers hot chocolate! I find 3/4 size = regular. Order via Hey You to avoid lining up and you might even get a good deal. They've got an awesome chocolate fountain (behind the glass). Staff are efficient. They also serve croissants and breakfast/lunch rolls and smoked salmon bagels. And of course they serve a range of chocolates for your afternoon sugar fix. There are plenty of seats in the food court area around the bend.
