Himizu

Yesterday I got to take part in a Dumplings and Things masterclass with the executive chef of Spice Temple Andy Evans and his team. Chef Deli demonstrated the art of making dumplings from scratch and then Chef Andy showed us the signature Spice Temple fried rice. It was such an amazing experience!! The staff were so friendly, it really was such a pleasure to be there and to meet everyone. The very next day (today) I made the dumplings and fried rice for my family, they loved it! I feel so special that I have had a one on one (it felt like that) with the head chef of my favourite restaurant and got to cook in his kitchen! So so amazing! Thank you, really!

My partner and I attended for his birthday dinner on the 16th July. It was an amazing experience, from the food to the service. The pickles were so fresh and lovely, the yellowfin tuna was the winning dish of our entire weekend. The pieces of tuna were the perfect size allowing for not only a full flavour experience but also a very textural experience. We also had the hot and dry wagyu, the prawn wontons and the slippery chicken. All dishes were perfectly balanced and just so enjoyable to eat. As per usual the waitstaff and atmosphere were fabulous. This restaurant is worth every dollar spent.

One word: PHENOMENAL! My partner and I had dinner at Spice Temple as a late Valentine’s Day celebration and we were absolutely blown away by the food, ambience, and especially the service! We were served by a lovely gentleman named Jack, who really elevated our dining experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and even spoiled us with some free limoncello cocktails at the end as it was also our anniversary. The raw yellowfin tuna was a solid 11/10 and the star dish of the evening 😍 We also ordered the prawn wontons and fried eggplant for entrees. For mains, we ordered the sweet and sour numbing pork, beef in ‘fire water’ and a side of steamed rice. Our dessert was the three milk cake. Every dish was amazing, and my partner and I were extremely happy by the end of it. When we asked for our leftovers to be packed for takeaway, Jack added a large steamed rice in there for free! When you eat at a restaurant with such amazing staff, it really elevates your dining experience and makes it something special. We can’t wait to be back. Thank you to the lovely staff for making it a wonderful night!

Extremely overpriced and overrated for what it is. I came here for a birthday celebration with a friend and we both love spicy food and have heard amazing things however was disappointed. Servings were not generous, the “shui zhu yu” (fish in chilli oil) had maybe 6 tiny fillets of fish for a massive $59 price tag - you can barely see any fish in the photo lol. Flavour wasn’t anything you couldn’t get from Spicy Joint. Don’t waste your money here.
