🥧 harry’s cafe de wheel 🐮 tiger pie 🍟 loaded meatball fries 🏠: @harryscafedw 📍: Ultimo, SYD 📝: Even though we didn’t manage to go to their original shop in Woolloomooloo, we got our hands on on of these pies from the OG Sydney food scene. ❤️: Had to grab their signature Tiger Pie—hot meat pie stacked with mashed potatoes, smashed green peas, and a pool of gravy on top— my boydriend‘s favorite. Also tried out the Loaded Meatball Fries—you can’t really go wrong with a combo that!

Popped in here after lecturing at JMC to test Australia's most famous pie. Harry's Woolloomooloo have been around for 80 years. Being vegetarian, I opted for the Spinach and Feta roll for $5.90. The filling was plentiful and the pastry fuffly. Absolutely delicious. This is a take away bar and you can sit on the steps across the road.

I enjoyed this unique experience. One does not see this type of service in Raleigh, North Carolina. The food was good, the prices extremely reasonable, the service very friendly with the rich Australian dry wit... and I absolutely loved the outside wall painting (which I included a photo!)... this is something the American Pickers (Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz) on the History Channel would pay a mint for!

We've been to the original Harry's, Liverpool, Tempe and now Ultimo, Ultimo has not had friendly service like the others. No chips, tomato sauce or tomato slices for the burgers. When all you sell is pies, burgers, hotdogs and chips the manager should be able to keep stock, but I suppose they no longer care here since the sign advising no chips looks well worn and the server is clearly accustomed to pointing at the sign to decline chips. The burgers and hotdog we got were tasty, it's a shame about the chips. I hope this store picks up it's game to match the other stores but we won't be back to Ultimo.
